Not really, you may get it in the next few days or may have missed it cos of mobile number error from your side or IPS entering incorrect mobile number. So dont worry ... check out for interview invitation letter soon ...

Post office folded my certi into half while sending it, not bad so far. They have not given me any special delivery tracking reference, is it normal. The lady sealed the forms and docs in plastic envelope, that's it. don't know if that envelope was pre addressed to passport office, can anyone else confirm this.

Don't worry about that ... its their usual practice, that is how the check and send service works. They have these plastic envelops in which they put in all the documents (A4 folded once) and then collectively all the passport applications for the day are sent out as one Special delivery parcel.

My wife is applying for her first British passport as well today. We will be using the check and send service.

I had a quick question for you. Please help.

How did the IPS return the original documents? I.e. Did the naturalisation certificate came back to you un-bent / unfolded?
Did you have to send a DO NOT BEND envelop etc. requesting them to send the documents back in that special envelop?

I know they can send the originals back in secure delivery, we have ticked that option in the application, but was more curious to know how to ask them to send the naturalisation certificate back without folding it? Or do you know is it ok to get it back folded if they do fold it when they send it back.

Please let me know.

If you tick that option, they send it half folded. It is just fine, there is nothing wrong in folding the certificate.

Dear Karnavati,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

One more question, for the below. Do they "post" the special delivery envelopes through the mailbox or do they still require signature? If the former perfect, as long as it's through my door I don't care about the signature proof.

Another option is you send a self addressed special delivery envelope with your application and give them instructions to send it back in that envelope. They will respect your choice and act accordingly as long as the instructions are precise and clear.
