I believe it depends on location. I did attend my interview yesterday in Edinburgh and they didnt take my picture or biometric. They asked me to sign though. Probably they might compare my signature.

P.S : Our passports were issued the same day we had our interview and an attempted delivery was made on 06 Aug 2013, but we were at work, rang IPS up and got the tracking number for DX Delivery and rescheduled it for 17 Aug 2013 on our day off.

Also during the interview we were asked questions going back 10 years

1. when we attended university
2. what bank accounts we held and for how many years
3. describe the route to the IPS Office
4. spouse's parents name and spouse's date of birth
5. describe our apartment
6. name of work and address
7. applicants parents full names and date of births
8. Did we receive our documents and when
9. How far is the local grocery store from where we live
10. Spouse's place of work and occupation

Point to note is that they come back and ask you the same question like parents date of births , I was asked this twice

What our theory is that all passports are printed post interview or pre interview , also we were 45 minutes early for our interview and we were given a number and called in and were told that we did not need to come in as scheduled for the interview, if you are early then you can go ahead, but lateness is a no no . Once the naturalisation certificate is issued, the rest is all formality.

If I have done my ceremony and have become British do I have to apply for a British passport in the country ? I am moving to America for family reasons and I would like to apply for a uk passport from the states as I can't wait 6 weeks for the passport in the uk.. Does anyone know if I can do the first passport application and interview outside of the uk ?
