Hi
If I have done my ceremony and have become British do I have to apply for a British passport in the country ? I am moving to America for family reasons and I would like to apply for a uk passport from the states as I can't wait 6 weeks for the passport in the uk.. Does anyone know if I can do the first passport application and interview outside of the uk ?

the letter of interview was just received this morning by my friend and the appointment was made straight away,when asked for the date and time,he asked to receive his acknowledgement letter for the interview by email,then the lady who spoke with him,told him that he is going to receive both,the letter by post and the email..he just got the email confirmation for the date and time and location of the ips office.

Useful Tip:
- When booking your passport interview please ensure they give you a choice to send the confirmation letter of your passport appointment via post or email.

- Make sure your signature on the application form match the signature at the interview. This caused me delayed but passport service was excellent and they made sure I received my passport in time for my travel.
