Is this the end of some sort of a journey? If it is, then I somehow am feeling very sad today. It's true that over the past many years I've experienced my fair share of anxiety and uncertainty and had few sleepless nights, but every time I stumbled on a stone or hit a wall I went back to the Almighty God and asked for his help and mercy. This always gave me a renewed hope and mighty confidence. I don't want to loose this connection and pray that may God continue blessing me as always- both in good and bad times.

My best wishes to all awaiting their British citizenship. I also convey my heartiest thanks to all the people who keeps this excellent site running.

Hello Boys and Girls

Passport application: Adult (after naturalisation)
Method of application: PO Check and Send
Date of application: 02/07/2013
Date of fee collection: 02/07/2013 (Paid at Post Office)
Date application acknowledged by IPS: Waiting
Date of receipt of interview letter: Waiting
Date of return of documents: Waiting
Date of passport appointment: Waiting
Date of passport receipt: Waiting

By the way folks I came from my holiday and entered the UK 2 days ago without a UK passport. (Because an unexpected illness in my family
necessitated me travelling before i had a chance to apply for a UK passport. )

I filled in the landing card and presented my ILR card to the immigration officer.
I explained the situation and told him that i was a British citizen . He then took my finger prints using the electronic reader on the counter . Then he too confirmed that i am a British citizen then i passed thru.

Brothers and Sisters many of you wonder and i know that this question was asked in different topics but i still want to answer .
When i asked the UKBA officer very same question he confirmed me !!!
---Becoming a British Citizen does not invalidate your ILR card---

So if you dont have time to get your UK passport or in case of emergency you can travel in and out of the UK using your ILR card.

I just wanted to share my experience with you .

Look after yourselves

So here is my numbers below

date of application via post and check- 17/06/13
date of text from HMPO- 20/06/13
date of receipt of interview letter from IPS-26/06/13
note: next available slot was following week in Victoria but Luton had a slot the following day, the IPS service is fantastic l think l just was unlucky to get this rude lady who lied to me and said the only earliest slot was only in Victoria next week so l booked it and then hang up.....couple of minutes later in the same hour l called them again and spoke to a nice gentleman who said they had loads of appointments in Luton the next day....so cancelled and rebooked for Luton...now the Luton people are just nice l was well looked after during my interview:)
so those of you who dont mind travelling a few miles further from london opt for other IPS centres if they tell you that the earliest is Victoria like the did to me don't believe them politely hang up and try cancelling and rebooking.
date of receipt of passport: 1//07/13 just delivered through letter box no need to sign anything.

Well well thats it no more worries no more interviews no more waiting am free finally Hope is a good thing!

I stumbled on this site about six years ago at the lowest point in my life had finished my university and did not know what do next wanted stay and work after studies did not know how...then google search yielded a discussion about the International graduate scheme on this site it was a miracle l was thinking of getting on the next plane to go back home and boom l saw an opportunity to stay here appeared and ever since....l have realised that the knowledge exchanged here is very up-to-date always at least five steps ahead on immigration changes and rules....this site is way better than a seasoned specialist immigration solicitor.... what l learnt here has helped me turn a student visa into a British passport....unbelievable l made it thanks all for contributing to my success good luck to all and l hope you find peace and happiness!

l will stay eternally grateful!

The lady at IPS was amazing and so friendly. This was one of the best service I have ever recieved. I had my passport in under 24 hours. How good is that . Worst service ever in uk is UKBA.

Good luck to everyone and I guess my journey is over. Take care peeps. Lots of love to you all. Xxx

Or Alternatively, all of you can try using Skydrive for Passports. On how to use this, please follow this post

Note: Once you've added your record to the bottom of the table, sort the spread sheet first by Application Sent Date (Column E) Ascending and then by Passport Received (Column K) Ascending.

I think it is quite useful to have 'real time' information about the most recent applications . I applied for my passport on the 21/06 and I find it very useful to know how people that applied just before me are getting on. By the way this post is programmed to delete itself in 3 days

l am not going to create a method for this passport thread as l have completed my interview hence immigration journey and expecting the lovely red or green book (passport) to drop soon...so why am l writing....

well since most people love these timelines to be efficient my suggestion that all members should only post when they have all the info that means passport in their hands...makes no sense telling us when you posted your application ...then a few days later tell us you got the acknowledgement letter then tell us about the texts etc....folks wait till you have all the info and deliver one punchy time line...am just saying

Am really on thin ice now in a few days l will be really immigration control free...when l get my passport it will save me ever posting or checking up on this site although during the last seven years it has been a great comfort in those darkest nights and days when l patiently waited :)
cheers folks please dont respond to this unless you have constructive criticism...l thank you in advance for your tolerance as British citizens :)

I do not think you applied for your British passport via the NCS. The NCS is strictly for naturalisation applications.

Passport application and processing time

Post by greenmambagirl » Thu Jun 27, 2013 5:50 pm

Passport application: Adult (after naturalisation)

Method of application: PO Check and Send

Place: Ealing (London) Post Office

Date of application: 25/06/2013

Date of fee collection: 25/06/2013 (paid at Post Office)

Date application acknowledged by IPS: (by text) 01/07/2013

Date of receipt of interview letter: 9/07/13 (dated 5 July but came by first class!)

Date of return of documents: 11/07 by special delivery. Bit sad that my citizenship certificate is so scruntched up!

Date of passport appointment: 10/07/13 (phoned up - they offered me an appointment for 16/07 in Victoria. I asked if there was anything sooner anywhere else and was given one in Luton for the next day. Very friendly and helpful lady on phone)

Date of passport receipt: 17 July

I phoned IPS six days after the interview as I had seen on here that most Luton interviewees got their passports in a few days. I politely acknowledged that I was phoning within three weeks but that I was hoping to be able to Tavel on the 23rd. They were super friendly and tracked my application. Apparently there was attempted delivery on the 12th July.
After many problems with DX couriers I got the passport at 6.15 this evening. IPS are really helpful - be friendly and polite and they will do what they can to make the process easy. The only way to speak to a human at DX is by phoning the IPS information line and being transferred. They did this for me five times and with sympathy. Hoorah so happy!

Date application received by HMPO: 25/06

got a call from IPS this morning 04 July. My application may be delayed because IPS needs to confirm my 'care of address' before progressing with my application. Therefore my timeline may be unusually long.
