This is the reason i think NCS is fantastic service for naturalisation application as we can keep all the originals and travel too. I think its well worth the £50-£75 councils charge for this facility as the applicant can then travel or use original for any other purposes like proving eligibility to work in uk etc.
I'm glad after my ILR for same day via my solicitor she advised me to use ncs and not her as she will have to send originals but via ncs i can keep them. It took 6 months to get approval but I'm glad i still had originals with me.
Good luck and hopefully your application won't have any impact due to this.

In both cases, it's silly.
HAHA U know in UK whoever has done his own application has become solicitor afterwards and they just dont bother to do things which r making them do extra work (no offense to ur solicitor just talking in general).

How would it leave a negative impact on the application? If that is the case then all NCS applications would be having (GOD FORBID) negative impact coz they r not even sending the originals at all.

In ur case atleast u have sent them originals and now u r asking them back which is allowed by HO anyways.

U can just fill in the online form for return of documents on HO website and just make sure where they ask "Do u want to withdraw ur application" u tick no and it should not have any positive or negative impact on ur application and u will get ur documents back with the letter that HO will ask them back if needed and ofcourse u can travel, there is no problem in it.
Ah it's cool. Hopefully it's the final hurdle. I really can't be arsed dealing with anyone's hurt ego.

Agreed - it seems that for apps sent around last week of March is taking about 20 days to process a payment.......

So far I can see that either because of the Easter holidays or for other reasons, the payments seem to have slow down a bit

In my case I pushed my solicitor to send the application through before the new fees kicked in

As for the HO ability to cope with picks and drops - I'm not sure how flexible they are with their pool of resources. I think they are fairly inflexible so if they receive more applications, they will have more waiting time (in conjunction with holidays in particular).

Fingers crossed I will have the payment processed within the next couple of days

anyone who applied (application received by the HO) around the 30th of March and got the payment processed?

I spoke with my solicitor and looks like that due to fee increase, there has been a spike in applications to submit them before the April date and now there is a huge backlog.

Let me know

Cheers

I applied on the 31st (receive on 1st April). I'd imagine most people would apply as soon as they are eligible for Naturalisation, so i don't imagine this "Spike" in applications would be stray too far from the normal, because either you are eligible on that date or you aren't. Even then i'd imagine the home office can anticipate this "spike" because they've been increasing fees every year since their inception, so they should allocate more workers when they anticipate it too happen.

"From what I understand, once you get the approval letter from HO (which we both did), you/we need to book ceremony date with our local council ( the number is provided in the approval letter), Council should also have received a copy of the same approval letter that you and I received. they will then book the ceremony (either the free or a private, depends on us)

Now, I did/am doing the same and have spoken to council twice. Friday & today and they are saying they have not received my paperwork from HO yet so they can't book the ceremony yet. they have asked me to contact them again on Wednesday.

This is really strange as, the approval letter is dated 31/03 and is sent via 2nd class post to me and I received it 2 days ago. how come council have not received their copy yet??

This is really strange!! have you tried calling the council again today? don't wait on them to call you, just call them yourself.

Let me know how it goes!"

Hi "Apocolypto" I'm sorry to hear about your situation. It's annoying after waiting for approval the council hasn't received your paperwork, terrible init. Also you are right they don't bother calling back so i called them again Monday morning where they said we haven't unpacked the certificates received from HO so they will call me back. Eventually they did calll back after 2 hours and said yes we have received your certificate and earliest public ceremony for free will be 20may that too in a council which is 1hr15 min away from me unless I want to pay £95 and do private one any day. I said there is no way I'm gonna wait till may so lets do private, she booked me in for this Wednesday afternoon. I hope it goes smooth and i can send my British pp application on Thursday. Good luck to you i hope they get your paperwork soon.

Jaweb - it seems to be a longer wait than the current trend..Feb was a great month it seems, and March is slower one, in comparison.

Lets hope we get our approvals soon!
Many Feb applicants are still waiting, including me :(
