Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Came back from work and my neighbour handed me a registered brown envelope. Opened it and hooray my application was successful. I waited exactly 5 months and One week. This was the longest period I have ever had to wait for anything.

For guys waiting keep having faith. God's time is the best.
Please see my time line below bearing in mind I applied from overseas (Germany)

Eligibility criteria: ILR and Exemption from Immigrational Control due being in HM Forces(Army)
Language criteria met : Life in The UK Test + ESOL
Method of application: Self (Posted from Overseas Germany)
Date of application: 08/10/2014
Payment method: Cheque
Date of receipt by UKBA: Not sure
Date of acknowledgment: 16/10/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 17/10/2014
Date approval received: 13 April 15 Dated (2 April 15)
Date of ceremony: Waiting a Call back from British Embassy Düsseldorf.

Jaweb - it seems to be a longer wait than the current trend..Feb was a great month it seems, and March is slower one, in comparison.

Lets hope we get our approvals soon!

The letter says I need to contact my council for the ceremony within 21 days. I am doing this but not getting through to them. will keep trying for the rest of the day

Congratulations, i received letter dated 31/03/2015 as well on 10/04/2015 and I called council twice and they said they were busy so they will call me later or monday, they didn't call on Friday so i will need to wait, did you manage to book yours?
Also I'm a bit confused as some people ln forum have mentioned they received approval and waiting for invitation letter, are there 2 separate letters?
I have received one which says " citizenship invitation"

From what I understand, once you get the approval letter from HO (which we both did), you/we need to book ceremony date with our local council ( the number is provided in the approval letter), Council should also have received a copy of the same approval letter that you and I received. they will then book the ceremony (either the free or a private, depends on us)

Now, I did/am doing the same and have spoken to council twice. Friday & today and they are saying they have not received my paperwork from HO yet so they can't book the ceremony yet. they have asked me to contact them again on Wednesday.

This is really strange as, the approval letter is dated 31/03 and is sent via 2nd class post to me and I received it 2 days ago. how come council have not received their copy yet??

This is really strange!! have you tried calling the council again today? don't wait on them to call you, just call them yourself.

I have been in UK since Mar 2008 and eligible to apply with my 5 yrs status , but prefered to do it with 3 Yrs + BC partner. No idea what the long term consequences of 6(1) / 6(2) . Appreciate if any one has got any insight of this ?

The MP environment is just time waster because MP don't have power to expedite the Home office shit policy of ignoring of any request for update the progress of application. Especially if you were as refugee route. I am one of them who were waiting for decision since last year February now 14 month is past and still waiting.

The HO has said the same thing to the MP his case is in process.

Speak to your MP personally. Then they will follow up on that. Its the good time to contact MP's they will listen to you as election is just around the corner.

Yes attend your ceremony and you'll immediately become a British citizen and receive your ceremony certificate.
