Good to know some progress is made. You are suggesting to confirm from union council. I have already tried confirming from so many places including Karachi consulate. Nadra office. And union council. None of them are aware about any such verification. I have no hopes really. Not sure why this birth certificate has become so vital for printing of passport book.

Well it seems like just another strategy to delay time n keep some in the loop otherwise if they r verifying every single certificate how is it possible that most r sorted in time n we few r still waiting.

I can not fully understand what they want to inform me from the following email which I received from them today.
“ We sent the request to the Honary Consulate in Pakistan in March and are only now starting to receive correspondance to other queries.
We will be in touch as soon as we hear regarding your birth cert verification”
I understand they “are only now starting to receive correspondence” but don’t understand “to other queries”. Any body have any clue about this?

I think they means that they have received correspondence for other peoples queries and will contact u once ur query correspondence is received.
So finally we know the request is gone to there consulate in Pakistan n ofcourse the delay is from people sitting in that consulate and they have been providing wrong information to us that they havnt receive any verification request. I think if there is a way we should complain about them to some Irish department as this is completely unacceptable that they delayed a simple verification for such long time.

If we complaint they will still put their inefficiency to the COVID-19. May be a bit more patience will work better because many have already got their pass. However I will try to contact to consulate in Pakistan by phone. Let’s see what response would be?

No, I don’t know any other person personally to be honest. Yeah I will try to contact consulate tomorrow and request them for the expedition of my case.

Atleast that’s some progress. Did you email them with a query and this reply was in response to that? Or did you just get an email from them automatically?

So it means our birth certificate was gone for verification in March. At the time we applied for the first time. And only now Irish passport office is receiving the correspondence?
I actually contacted the consulate couple of months ago and I was told that they don’t receive such query and I should contact NADRA.

Hi everyone. I am in same boat. Submitted my passport application in march 2020.since then they are trying to get my birth certificate verified. No words to explain my frustration.
I have contacted NADRA helpline they are adamant that they don't deal with birth certificate verification at all and it has to be through union council.
I don't know where the have sent the verification request.

Anyone knows where can we contact for verification.
I think we need to talk to Pak embassy or some authority to resolve the issue. I don't anyone who has gone thru this. Like is there a hope of end to this?

Maybe through interpol the verifications are being done? Or through the irish consulate in Karachi?

Nadra has nothing the do with verifications, they just tell everyone the cert is issued through union councils, is their document not ours.

Where do you want to complaint? If you dont even know where the verification request is sent? If the passport office in Ireland can inform you where the request is sent then maybe you can complain about it?

However its strange, it lookslike only a small handfull of applications are getting verified otherwise others dozens of applicants would also be waiting like you guys....

Welcome guys, the requests r sent to Honary Consulate in Karachi so they r the one dealing with it. If u ready previous post by Taki who got an email from Passport office stating above.

Sorry abt it, i missed that info.
So if it’s sent to the irish consulate in Karachi, they will usually then their contacts(in person) to the relevent union councils for verification.

As the irish consulate is irish, maybe a complaint can be made to the dept. of justice in ireland?

I think, this hasn’t the do with Pakistan, but with the government of ireland?
Maybe due covid, they “abolished” the verifications? It’s hard to guess and say, whats taking so long.

But a complaint to the DOJ is maybe a worth? If not directly, maybe through your local TD?

I think Honorary Councilors appointed by the Department of Foreign Affair not by the Department of Justice, If someone interested to complain against Honorary Council, Karachi complaint should be Addressed to the Foreign Minister or D.F.A.
Phone Lines opens in Honorary Council, Karachi is between 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM and there is a 5 hours time difference between Karachi & Dublin I am sorry, I want to contact them but constantly failed to wake up between these timing in the morning. If someone can try to talk to them, than may be we can get any better idea about the progression they have made yet.
Although I have received an email which I have already share with you guys but my online tracking bar still moving each day little bit and still have more than a week to final date. Let's see?

But did he confirm you that kind of requests are being received in their consulate?

If yes, call them back again another day, until you will get more info. And usually different people will answer the phone, so maybe the other person will have other info for you? And the guy who you spoke is maybe new or hasnt any info about verifications?
