Thx everyone for your support! I got hsmp permission letter.

Application sent to HO: Dec 18
Application Received at HO: Dec 19
Payment Deducted: Dec 20
Decision reached : 18 jan

I got help of MBE sheffield, and got my courier today. i.e.monday 21 jan.

I have got my HSMP Approval on 18 Jan by Post. I was not at home and collected Today in Royal Mail Office.

Thanks all. HSMP is approved. Dated 14 Jan.

Time Line

Received by HO 20 DEC
Payment Deducted : 21 DEC

Received By me : 18 JAN

Hope it helps others to calculate the time.

I sent my application on 19th of Dec by DHL. DHL screwed me n sent my application to a different destination outside UK though they managed to deliver it at BIA on 24rth DEC.

Payment deducted through CC on 28th n got ref # 2436** today by calling BIA customer contact centre as i didn't get any acknowledgment email.

I strongly suggest using Royal Mail if its in country application, coz hav found with other friends dat its quicker n would strongly advise against using DHL (expensive, ineffective n bad customer service).

Dear All,
Well a surprising thing happen yesterday about my HSMP case. One of BHC person visited my home for verification and asked me to get a report from Police station saying that I donâ€™t have criminal records.

Today I get the report from Local police station and that person will be collecting it by evening. I think this is some thing new in HSMP cases especially visiting home is totally new thing.

Waiting comments and suggestions or any thing to ask to that BHC person (as we will meet when he will be collecting police report from me )
Is there any person who has heard the case of visiting home by BHC for initial HSMP?

please note that My Application reached HO on 30th of Nov 2007.

I know this will sound very basic...in my email from HO, they state the date the application was received. Is that the date I should follow? Or do I take the date payment was cleared? Please advise.

I called them today and they said they are processing application as of 27/12/07

Guys,
After months preparation of collecting papers, giving IELTS, writting cover letter finally my application is approved. Thanks to this forum which helps me in so many ways.
Will apply in May for EC, as I'm in Switzerland till July.

A small doubt, the home office letter just says that I'm approved, and didn't tell me that how much point I'm granted. I was somehow in the impression that they notify the applicants about the points that are granted and in which areas. May be I was wrong thinking that.
Can some who has already approved, please enlighten me on this?

Hi guys, I got my papers today n dats how i knew dat my application has been approvedd. Good luck to all those waiting for decision on their applications.

The following may be helful for those trying to track their applications:

Application sent through DHL (London) 20/12
Delivered by DHL 24r/12
Fee Debited 28/12
Ref. No. (by calling) 22/01
Decision 22/01
Paper received through Royal Mail 23/01

I am not sure wether to apply for EC now or wait till the new rules come in force. As per the new rules after HSMP application approval the initial EC will be stamped for 3 years (currently 2 years).

Yeah they only send one letter, which says that the hsmp application is approved. It does not say anything about points scored in particular areas. U hav to send this letter with PP for the EC.
