I am living with my wife and child (Britsh) but i also gave one room to my childhood friend who contributes the expense with me and one room to another person as lodger to cover up the house expenses (with landlord permission).

my partner is living on this address since 3.5 years even during the separation and divorce period with my ex.
A 'Household enquiry form' is sent to all residential properties annually for completion, giving details of occupants in the accommodation.
This is legal requirement and failure to complete or to give false information is liable to face a fine of up to £1,000. If your ex-wife's name is still on the Electoral Roll after leaving the residence several years ago, her name is likely to flag up if the Case Worker carries out an occupant check.

Yes, you should submit a genuine property inspection report, as from your post above you appear to be sharing the accommodation with 2 other people in addition to your wife and child.
thanks casa for your feedback.

the truth is my ex asked me to let her stay on this address until she comes back and get a new place. Its seems like i should have atleast struck her off from electoral register. but yes she is not on open register for sure. dont know how to fix this now or how to explain if case worker ask more info on this.
should i just tell the truth about the arrangements with ex to use the address.

If you are referring to the landlord's letter, to the best of my knowledge the Case Worker isn't concerned whether you've been good tenants. They are simply interested in seeing evidence that you have your landlord's permission to live in the property. Proof of residence will be in the co-habitation documents you submit with the application.

I would suggest that you contact your local Council to ask for your ex partner's details to be removed from the Register. Doing a favour has put you at risk of being penalised for giving false information on an official document.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
