Re: Covid Concession ILR- Dependants Came Later - Very Confused

Dear zimba thank you very much. My only confusion is with the "work end date". So I need to enter the work end date as it is but a visa end date 3 years into the future?

Thank you very much.

Hello zimba. I made my ILR and dependants extensions. For some reason the system asked 5 year fee not 3. So I paid that. Also no IHS was calculated for my kids. The IHS was calculated correctly for my wife. Shall I write to UKVI or may I ask where to write to?

Best regards,

Two separate applications. As I said, failure to pay the correct fees leads to delay

No. My view is the same as above. Expected administrative delays, wait to hear back

Dear Zimba,

My dependants also got their extensions a couple of days ago. Applied for return of excess payments for priority service and visa application however not sure if they will return it and when.

Thank you so much for your patience and great guidance. Happy to help everyone regarding my experience. Please trust immigration boards and Zimba.

All the best,

ILR for Dependants - Any chance to apply early

Post by lastminute007 » Fri Nov 21, 2025 1:15 pm

Dear all,

Thanks to Zimba's and Immigration Boards immense support and guidance I received my ILR early October. My query is regarding my dependants:

Just to give some information

I was on Tier 4 visa and started a SWV job on 15 September 2020 (Cos dates 15 September 202-14 September 2025)

Cos issue 4 September 2020
Applied to Tier 2 11 September 2020
Started Job 15 September 2020
Visa received 20 October 2020
Visa expires 28 September 2025
ILR received 5 October 2025

Information about dependants:
Visa granted 16 May 2021
Entry to UK 10 June 2021
Visa expires 28 September 2025
Applied for extension 20 September 2025
Granted 3 year extension from on 17 November 2025

my question would be given that the changes are expected from April 2026, how early that they can apply? My understanding is that 28 days prior of visa grant is 18 April 2026? Can they apply on this date or can they apply early maybe end of March and will this help them to not to be covered by the new visa rules?

Thank you

You did not need to create a new topic and repeat everything again. All the advice given before applies as the rules stand now, including the 28-day concession. We are not aware of any changes that might happen in 2026.

All you need to know about applying early, the application date, 28-day concession and more

Dear zimba, thank you very much. So my understanding is that they can apply in march 2026 and have the biometrics on or after 18 April 2026?
