Have you looked at whether it's possible to ger Portuguese citizenship based on your marriage? As far as I know Portugal is fairly flexible on granting citizenship to spouses of citizens.

I can't read Portuguese and I don't know if this is comprehensive, but it's a start:

If you got a Portuguese passport yourself, it would make it easier for you to live in the UK.

Also - after 4 years in the UK you should still aim to get UK permanent residence (Indefinite Leave to Remain) for all the family. It gives more rights than the EEA family permit, and more rights even than citizenship of another EEA state.

Getting ILR is also necessary to become naturalised British citizens, which you may well want to do if you see your futures in the UK.

You should also confirm whether Brazil and Portugal allow dual citizenship (ie, can you acquire Portuguese citizenship without losing Brazilian, and can all of you in the family become British without losing either).

Hy Jaj,

Yes, I'm in the process to obtain a Portuguese nationality, but not because of my wife, but because of my portuguese bgrandfather.

But the process is taking so long, so I decided to apply for a Family Permit.

Yes, Brazil and Portugal allow dual citzenship.

Thanks,

Alex
