It's very easy to understand.

If a Brit loses job, he will enjoy life as usual with help of "public funds".
So, he has no tension in life (except girl friend ditching him) and doens't need to work hard.

If an Indian (work permit holder) loses job, he will have to return to India where he can get another job but at much lower wage. So he works harder to prove himself.

When this very trait is repeated by thousands of Brits and Indians, then it is categorized as "Brits are lazy, Indians (and any Asian/African etc. countries) are hardworking!"

Just remove the public fund cushion - within days Brits will be more hardworking than anyone else in the world!

I am working in company where most of my colleagues are brit. And let me tell you they are really not only hard working people but very smart in work. This Site that you are referring you do give very cachy statements to boost its rating. In case you yourself believe that the
head statement may be offending, but the inside article is some thing else. What on earth make you so arrogant in saying moderators cannot change the heading of this discussion.

I still request moderator to change the heading of this discussion.

mr simar - u r truly comic person ....I dont understand how the heading of an article published in some other site can be changed by moderators here.

And as for ur statement 'where most of my colleagues are brit. And let me tell you they are really not only hard working people but very smart in work.' ...

ofcourse it is 'your' view ....from your own perspective....I wont challenge that ...neither do I challenge Peter Luff's views and I think he has much more authority, and broader perspective on this topic than u and me. lets not get by our narrow mindsets.....

ur statements
'Oh I take my words back, I though I am writing to Indian but you not. '
'work as a contractor, take all the pounds and run to India with that money and start something there'.

Great stuff......typical slaver mindset and cunning sweet tounge.....

adcd - Good rationale......makes sense.....one of my colleagues says our hard earned taxes and NI go in sponsoring some people's laziness..may be a harsh statement but many of the people tend to agree with it..

I disagree that British people are lazy. In fact they can manage not to work hard but to be richer than anybody else in the EU. I think Indians should apply their enthusiasm back to their native country which is facing ecological disaster - I am visiting India every year for my Christmas holiday and can see how "hard working" Indians are managing their own country - it’s literally full of shit with pigs and other animals wondering around, with overloaded population and incredible pollution. Soon there will be no fresh air and just wastewater in the rivers...I love India and it`s painful to see your "achievements" there.
I thing that this is an advantage and the talent - not to work hard but earn a lot. Only stupid people work a lot; smart people work less but earn more. And British are smart, that’s true.

Ok we have some people smarter andmore knowledgeable than Mr Peter Luff. honorable chairman of the House of Commons Trade and Industry Committee. Good !

It is interesting that the language (' it’s literally full of sh** with pigs and other animals wondering around, with overloaded population and incredible pollution. Soon there will be no fresh air and just wastewater in the rivers') used in eugene_uk's mail was not found offensive by any 'Indian' or 'India friend' on the board.

Yeah and as far smart people I would agree with that - there are people in the UK who live happily on unemployement doles with Public Funds. Why work when the Indians, Chinese and fellow Brits work hard, pay taxes and NI. Really smart people.....

The judgment you make shows that you are more receptive to negative ideas that positive. You find my statement funny if I says starts some work in India. Perhaps you might find statement more funny if I says starts new stuff in Britain with support from India to be more competitive against say Japan, china , French any other companies. Reason, you sounds like some one might not doing good in his caeer, that only put his /her frustration out in such forums. No constructive thinking. Only negative reception & raising jingoistic idea. In fact I learn myself lot as how to work smart & that means in efficient manner from my brits colleagues. People like you can only gave negative ideas & thinking. May god gave you better mindset.

More pertinently, may God give us all some relief from dreary threads like this, cluttering up a part of the forum that is more usually populated with questions and answers on specific UK immigration issues, rather than sterile exchanges about whether this country is better than that country, and whether either or both are better or worse than somewhere else altogether....
