Hi vinayrn,

I am also a director of my own limited company and I draw Salary and Dividends. I strongly believe that I am EMPLOYED rather than quoting as self-employed.

Since I have appointment already at Solihull for december and its tough at the moment to get appointment dates for December at other PEOs like Cryodon.

So I am preparing my documentation so that I take care of both employed and self-employed scenarios. So on top of general employed documents, I am planning to submit the below as well.

- Business Bank Statements
- HMRC Corporation Tax return acknowledgment
- Latest Company Accounts with profit and loss info ratified by Accountant
- Account Letter explaining my salary and dividends
- Invoices raised during the period of earnings claimed
- Remittance advice from Agency (payment for invoices raised)
- Contract document between my limited company and Agency
- Companies House limited company registration certificate
- HMRC Flat VAT registration document

Would this help even if they ask me any of the above documents on my date of application at PEO ?

Any one with similar experience please advice !!

Hi All,

Today I attended Solihull PEO for Tier 1 General extension and got it approved. I am a limited company director and not registered as sole trader.

After going through other peoples experiences where even though we are employed (since we take salary + dividends), their applications were considered as self-employed. So gathered documents for both employed + self-employed scenarious.

Today I carried all the docs but gave them on case officer request . Strangely he just asked me the following only:

-payslips
-dividend vouchers
-Accountant reference letter confirming salary and dividends, profit and
loss etc
- Personal Bank statements for 12months
-Limited company registeration certificate
- VAT registration certificate

Thats it !! He verified those docs and gave me visa. I think I was lucky, but may not be the same for others. Its better to carry all the docs and give them as they request.

Once the case was approved , they gave me a formal letter of confirmation and returned all the originals. I didnt check thoroughly all the docs when they returned it. After returning home, I found that Accountant reference letter was missing. Its strange that it was missed out. Now I need to check with them some time later.

So beware to check all the docs when they are returned with confirmation letter.

And I asked the lady , what will be my visa date valid from, is it from the day it expires or date of application ? She said its from date of application but its not clearly mentioned on the confirmation letter. So need to wait for Biometric cards to confirm the date thing!!
