in Royal greenwich council they do public ceremony every thursday .skyiswide wrote:Thank youneoseal wrote:Congrats skyiswide. Ya its very psychological, that we have spent so much, and just another £119 to get it over.
Yes thats true. Its a lot of money 874+119 but if we say them anything then they will argue and reasons they will provide....no one asked you to pay 119. It was your choice that you paid for private ceremony. But true is every council should provide better service and at least 3 public ceremony a month. And not giving date after 2 months of invitation letter. Some council is very good and some council do lot less ceremony in a year so they can made huge amount at the end of year and spend these money on other works in council. I reckon if 33 people take ceremony in a month then council earn 33x whatever private ceremony cost x 12 . Just an average. Anyways I am happy atleast they gave me private ceremony date within 48 hours. And 119 pounds saved me 60 or more days as they said no public ceremony before November. As oct one was fully booked. I wish all you get your approval soon. It is amazing feelings that I am British citizen now and I still have full love and respect to my existing citizenship and its culture. But I also have full respect and love to my new country Great Britain
Yes London based council is very fast. Even they charge 30 percent less council tax. But outside london and some borough charge as much as 275 pounds. All my point is there should be fixed charge in all over uk. But at it depends on council to council so they can charge even 400 if they want or just 50. But I think charge should not be more than 50 and atleast 3 citizenship ceremony should be arranged by local authority.walidukdz wrote:in Royal greenwich council they do public ceremony every thursday .skyiswide wrote:Thank youneoseal wrote:Congrats skyiswide. Finally got my approval letter this Saturday 14th September (letter dated 24th July) and booked my ceremony for later this week in Lewisham
Relieved after 4 months of waiting. I am not from high risk country but my absences were slightly above limits both during the last 5 years and last 12 months. All due to business travel under the same employer.

congratulations, it seems that at least some people are getting their approvals quickly. I applied three weeks ago so I am also hoping that I become one of the few lucky ones who get it in a month's time.Jack_Daniels wrote:Eligibility criteria: 2 years HSMP + 3 years Tier 1 + 1 year Indefinite (family application of 4)

Its exactly one calendar month since I posted the application. I think correct packaging, organisation of back-up/evidence and good covering letter (all which makes the case workers job easier) helps.
Good luck to everyone waiting.

My decision was made on 24th July (c. 9 weeks after my application), but I only received the approval letter last week, after chasing them 3 times via e-mail.
