I was granted citizenship in January 2019 under UKF, and would ordinarily have applied under Section 3(2) as I lived in the UK for a while as a child, but unfortunately didn’t realise the law had changed to allow me to register until after my children were born (youngest child was born a little under four years after the law had changed, and I had checked several months prior to her birth, just two or three months before the law actually changed). We are living in the US but planning to return to the UK next year, thus the overseas applications.

Application was much faster and easier than I thought it was going to be - due to the complicated circumstances and the overseas lodging I assumed it would take months if it was going to be accepted at all. Best of luck, all!
