I guess all the background checking and scruitny is conducted by Initial checking team. All the findings are recorded and passed on to caseworking team. The teamleader then assigns the case to a worker who consludes the case by making decision based on the findings of the initial checking team.

Eskar,

Thanks for the gesture. However its not been confirmed yet. They simply said decision has been made and letters have been sent out.

So lets wait until I receive the letters and inform you the exact decision.

BTW keep calling them.

Regards,

Salam Brothers,

NCS or Postal : NCS
If NCS, which centre : Wandsworth Council
Date of submission or posting : 26/02/2010
Date Home Office Received: 27/02/2010 ( checked through Royal mail tracking ref)
CRITERIA - 4 years students + 2 years spouse visa ( british citizen ) + 1 week ILR ( under SET-M)
Date of debit of debit/credit card : pending
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: pending . Dated: pending
Date of receipt of approval pending
Date of Ceremony pending
Date of appln. for passport pending
Method used pending
Date of Receipt pending

I know it was too early to have some opinion. I just want your advice or comments on my situation. As you can see I recently got ILR so Home Office's internal initial checking or verificaiton would not be long or time consuming. I guess my application is very straightforward and will be decided quickly. What do you guys think? Over to you......

Jazak Allah Khair,

chzishan. My Surname start with 'H'. eventhough im not sure how much it wil help to predict the timeline because u also need to consider your location as there different team for different area like london goes one team, midland england goes to one team , should be found in the acknoloedgelemnt letter.

one more thing i was thinking if you have receently ILR, is more likely to be quick intitial check as they went thourgh all of those when they approved ILR. becasue i got my ILR 5 years ago, just after three month of my arrival.

salam tim ,
its all are guess in terms of other people timeline. as you got ILR one week ago i dnt think so it should take really long, specially case worker. by the way you got just ILR one week ago , i thought it must be 12 month old.

Wasalam Eskar Bahi,
Yes, just 1 week ago I got ILR. I am applying on the bases of 3 year rule ( british citizen - marriage ). Actually I'm in the country from last 6 years. 4 years student + 2 years spouse visa thats why applied now. 12 months restriction is for those entered in uk on spouse visa or applying on the bases of 5 years rule. Before I was bit concern about this 12 months rule, after long investigation and advices from different experts I came to decision for application.

Did you get any response from Home Office regarding your application?

I got a question

If someone has been arrested and released without charges would that have any effect on the application?

My surname starts with letter "B" and UKBA North West team is looking into the case ('is' because the letter has not been received, hence the case is still rolling).

Arrested and detained are two different scenarios. Police would arrest some one for a proven guilt and would detain under suspicion.

In your friend's case, it is likely that he/she was detained under suspicion and then released once the enquires came clear. However release can be either conditional or unconditional. Conditional where suspect is released with "Warning" which is recordable in PNC. However unconditional release would not leave any entry in the PNC and subsequently would not show up during scruitny for naturalization/ILR. I hope this explains.

Moreover PNC check and CRB are two different databases check. CRB would reveal a lot more than PNC. A CRB check would reveal this arrest and unconditional release.
