BRP card lost in Ukraine

Application date 05/11/2013 at UK Visa Centre in Kiev
Payment and biometrics taken the same day

After 2 weeks it is under assessment at UKBA

Does anyone know ways to speed up the process? Email or phone UKBA?

My original trip to Ukraine was for 5 days only and now I'm trapped for another 2 weeks so far... Need to comeback to my kids and work in the UK.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you

I'm quite concerned about these timelines for getting a name change on the BRP.

In fact my husband is now saying I shouldn't bother to change the name, if it means I have to send my passport to UKBA for 6-8 weeks.

It seems that the people who lost their BRP have faster service than the name change.

Since most people who change their name are women, if that is the case perhaps it should be put to UKBA that their practice is discriminatory.

Is there any December month case?

I have requested for BRP(RC) on 3 DEC
Letter delivered on 04. DEC
Notification letter received on 12 DEC dated 06 DEC
Waiting............

It looks like cycle will be slower in December month. Is there any person who is on same boat?

Did you apply for a name change, or just for a replacement of a lost card?

Today I sent my BRP(RC) application because my BRP is damaged.

I included my BRP but not my passport because I'm applying for a like-for-like replacement without any changes of personal details. That's what I assumed from the Section 3 of the form where it says passport might not be required.

Can someone confirm that this is ok, that I did not send my passport as well?

I am transferring my paper visa into BRP card, so I think there shouldn't be a long process involved as the decision to grant Permanent Residence was made back in 2011.

I started my BRP application back in mid Nov 13. After 7-10 days got a letter confirming the receipt of my app and asking to be patient basically. Till the end of 2013 there was nothing else heard from them. On 15th of Jan 2014, I got a Reminder letter dated 12/1/14 (assume first letter simply got lost in the post during busy December :? ) requesting to submit my biometrics at the nearest Post Office. Did that the next day.

January 31/1/14 - nothing yet. Called HO to find out more, the lady confirmed it is still under consideration.

Hoping to receive it soon.

Guys - I need your urgent assistance if possible please:

I have changed my name by deed poll and to comply with informing UKBA within 3 months, I am filling the biometric replacement forms and I have some questions I want to clarify:

A4 - Applicants Full Name: What name should I use please? my old name or new name?

B2 - B3 Names as it appears in your passport: I am not going to change my passport because it has just 1 year to run. Change of name allows you to travel on your old passport. So now, what should I write here?

Section D: Have you used any name (s) other than the one given at A4 in section 1 of this application form in previous UK immigration applications made in the UK or aboard? is this YES or NO? I don't even understand what this is asking.

Thanks,

Sirrichie

Guys

Brilliant treasure of information in this thread - however I keep noticing that one thing is missing.. THE TIMELINE TO GET THE SINGLE-ENTRY VISA FoR OUT-OF-UK SITUATIONS.

I am in Mumbai, due too fly back in 4 days and I've lost my visa. I applied online for a replacement BRP visa 4 days back nd gave the biometrics today. I knew this ws bad news but I thought only financially! Now it looks like I will miss the flight as well? this might mmess up my career as my employers alredy had trouble with my visa (their fault that time) nd now again I might not resume work and have to overshoot my holiday.

Can anyone please tell me how long it takes to get the "replacement BRP visa" and not the actual BRP? I mean the single entry visa with which I can go to UK and then go through what seems to be another nightmare? Any chance of getting it in two days or am I dreaming?

As I've been using this board to estimate BRP(RC) processing times (since the wonderful UKBA doesn't provide any information!) I thought I would add to it by giving my timeline:

Mailed BRP(RC) - 15.02.2014
Received acknowledgment letter - 21.02.2014
Received biometrics enrollment invitation - 27.02.2014
Registered biometrics - 28.02.2014
Passport returned - 19.03.2014
BRP received - 21.03.2014

5 weeks start to finish.

Also, I was given this phone number for the Home Office: 0300 123 2241. I tried calling several times to check on the status of my application and no one ever answered, but I thought I would pass it along just in case anyone else has more luck with it than I did! Good luck everyone :-)

If you have immediate travel plan, i recommend not to apply for BRP because mine took about 3 months.

Mailed BRP(RC) - 30.12.2013
Received biometrics enrollment invitation - 16.01.2014
Registered biometrics - 20.01.2014
BRP received - 01.04.2014
Passport returned - 02.04.2014

Good luck

Hi everyone I've been granted 30 months discretion leave to remain. All my documents has been return to me. And it's 10 working days now, and still hasn't received my BRP. Has anyone got experience of that sort?

Hi,

I have a question. My purse was stolen when i was in China and my BRP was in it. I returned to UK the next day and was lucky to be permitted back in the country. The BRP form stated that I have to make a police report but when I called the police, they said I cannot make a report through them as I lost the item overseas. What do I do in this case since the form asked for a police reference number?

Thank you,
Sue
