Its not the great news but it is better news for me compare to my last update in this thread.

I got my papers today, and it is approved. Finally, a big relief. Thanks a bunch to the folks in this forum, it was a great way to keep the spirits up during the waiting time. Especially all those who kept my spirits up since yesterday when I was pretty down.
Approval Date: April 9th 2008
Docs Received: April 15th, 2008
Also claimed 80 points and was awarded 80 points.
Since others are asking about docs submitted:
1. Primary applicant application (mine)
2. Dependant Applications for my wife, and two children
3. Covering Letter
4. Pay slips for immediate last 12 months.
5. Bank statements for last 12 months. On some site, I had found a note that said highlight the salary entries in the bank statements, so I stuck little stickers near the entries for the salary in the bank statemetns. LTSB gives really huge statements.
6. Other set of bank statements for Maintenance Proof
6. Marriage certificate attached to wifes Application.
7. Birth certificate (Original) attached to each childs application.
8. My Degree, Marks List, Letter from Univ about English Medium, and NARIC cert attached to my application. (I know all of them are not needed, but I had prepared for the HSMP when the Tier 1 was introduced, and I had all the papers, so I just attached them anyways)
9. I had a separate cover letter with number of pages etc., for each set of the above docs. All of the cover letters mentioned my name, passport number etc in small font in the bottom footer.
The idea given to me was that the more organized the papers are, the more chances that it would be approved.
Now, Any one looking for TAM consultants?

Ashraya

Wish all the best to your further and your family.
But I got one question for you, since your case was approved on 9th April, when did they stamp your passport since they must sent the whole package back to you on 11th or 14th April?
Could you please let me know? Really appreciate your reply.

mmmsa5 wrote:Important question (for those of you who have received the Tier 1 Visa)
May be it's too early to think about 5 year qualifying period in the face of rapidly changing immigration rules. Anyway, my understanding about qualifying period is that it starts the day your leave to remain as Tier 1 is issued?
In my case the date on approval letter is 3 April 2008. Valid untill date on the visa sticker is 3 Apr 2011. But the date of issue of leave as Tier 1 (on visa sticker) is 10 Apr 2008.
My question is: does the qualifying period start from 10 Apr 2008 in this case (as this is the date of issue on visa sticker)? If so, why I have not been given visa untill 10 Apr 2011?
Can I ask the other members who have recently received their approvals under Tier 1 post these dates for further discussion.
rajiv502 wrote:Hi everyone.
It's my turn now.
I got my documents back now.
Approval date: 31st march
Received date: 16th April
Thanks everyone for the updates.
Just to let you know that you dont need to take IELTS or submit any letter if your university is on the approved university list on BIA website and it meets English requirement.
I just submitted the original degree and that's all.

Rajiv
Congratulations!! I will be in the similar situation as you but without dependants. You give me lots of hope!mmmsa5 wrote:Hi, I have some good news to share with the forum members.
My initial application to switch into Tier 1 General (from Student) has been approved along with my dependants . Following is the the timeline for my application.
Application received at HO: 26 March
Payment Taken: 26 March
Reference number received: 29 March (PB300***)
Decision Taken: 3 April (Approved), 4th April for dependants
Documents Received: 15th April
N.B. I didn't claim any points for previous earnings. May be that is the reason for quick approval.
Best of luck for all of you who have applied and are waiting for decision. Your time will come soon.
