Can't wait nomore!!

Post by fabioflashuk » Wed Nov 14, 2012 11:08 am

Hi Guys,

Is there any of you guy on the same situation as me ?
I'm on the Tier2 Sponsor visa valid for 3 years in which will expire in 2 days, so I've sent many letters to them to try to speed up the process, the first reason why I need to get my RC is that me and my wife we are buying a house and everything has been agreed and done however, the bank still waiting to see my RC in order to release our mortgage. So I sent 3 letters to them telling this and how urgent we need as we are in a risk of loosing the deal and the money invested with solicitors and valuations.

So to make it more dramatic, :) I 've sent another letter last week reapeating the story of the Mortgage in which is true and as I realize that my visa will expire in 2 days I've also mentioned that I'm in a risk of losing my job and my boss will not renew my contract if he doen't see the new visa.

From you guys experience do you think that this is enough of a reason to be treated as priority ?

Here is my timeline,

Application received by HO: 22/08/2012
COA Received on : 15/10/2012
RC ?

Thanks

Hi buddy similar messages I have also sent cus of similar situation but they 've done nothing. My old visa has already expired, lucky u have two days but status doesn't matter for this applicationonce ur application is there. They received my application on 14/06/2012 one month before you and we have sent numerous letters but i haven't received nothing apart from COA allowing me to work.
*They replied the letter at last telling us to give them some more details to check the position of the application in the cue , we sent one week ago , no reply again and RC not here as well mate.I think waiting is the best cus these people don't give a f*** to EEA Applicants because we don't pay.If you 6months is up then seee ur local MP I would suggest.

Application sent: 26/10/2012

Application rec'd by UKBA: 29/10/2012

COA rec'd: 03/11/2012 (dated 31/10/2012)

Requested passports back by email: 05/11/2012
then again 12/11/2012

Calls to chase passport return: 12/11/2012 (2 calls, was told original request is in the system, was told to sent another request by email)
13/11/2012 (1 call, was told EEA application passport return now takes 10 days rather than 5, was told to just wait)

RC: hoping it arrives within 2-4 months

I believe that there has been pressure exerted on the UKBA to issue the COAs as soon as possible after receipt of EEA2 applications. I also believe this is driven by the 6 month maximum duration for these applications as prescrib
ed by the EU directives.

Did requested my passport back as we'll lat 02. 11.12 by email. Until now I haven't received it :( I'm travelling on Saturday and I don't if I could now :(

I called and spoke to a supervisor today who informed me that the staff who looked up the system and told me that my passport return request was logged in the system etc had broken protocol and would face disciplinary action!

She told me that there is no point calling as there is nothing they can do and that passport return requests must be followed-up online these days.

So today I sent my third request by email for the return of passports.

I have a business trip with flights booked for Sunday...

Hi ghirleeh_lim,

You probably received an automated response to the email you sent 02/11/2012 which stated that passport return should be within 5 days?

Interestingly for the second request I sent 12/11/2012 I noticed that they have changed the automated response to now read "wthin 10 days".

So you are still some chance for Saturday.

Good luck.

Same happened to me when I called, the man I believed check the system and told me that my request still hasn't process yet. I'm really desperate to get my passport as I thought it was only 5 days process. I didn't even pack my luggage.

Yes, it was 10 working days in my email. Though my last chance is on Friday. Actually I have residence card but then my passport is expiring so decided to transfer my visa to new passport. If only I knew this will happen I should have not transferred my visa to new one. Anyway thanks :)

Yeah it is valid cos I had my RC last year only. Then I had it transfer my Rc to new passport last July 2012 and got COA last October. Since then I haven't heard anything.

Return of Document

Post by Amari2051 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:28 am

Hi everyone

EEA received by HO on 17th July
COA received on 13th Oct
Requested passport Back on 14th Nov.

And few hours later, I got this reply from the Return of Document guys

"""Thank you for your request for Return of Documents.
Unfortunately, we are unable to complete your request at this moment, for the reason stated below.
You will need to write diretly to caseworking dept, address: UKBA, PO BOX 306 LIVERPOOL, L2 0QN"""

Is this normal? has anyone received this type of email after requesting documents?

I am not convinced this means there is something wrong with your application.

The passport return request process was changed from a telephone based system (which is still stated in the current version of EEA2 application form, although now incorrect) to the email based system.

It's not impossible that the email based system has now changed to a postal system.

If my passport doesn't arrive this morning I will be emailling another request through so I will let you know what automated response I receive.

Which email did you sent your request? Is that the online form (RODrequest...or the Liverpool euro email?)

I sent my online form to both emails
Liverpool Euro Passport Returns and RODRequests

Has any one been told to write a letter in order to get their passport?
Or do you guys know of anyone receiving an email similar to the one i received?

I first sent my request to both emails on the 1st of Nov (got no reply) and then on the 4th of Nov (got no reply) and then on the 14th of Nov and got a reply saying;

""Thank you for your request for Return of Documents.

I sent my request to both of these too and got a response within minutes.
Thank you for your email to the UK Border Agency, Liverpool European Passport Returns. This in- box is specifically for requesting the return of passports or identity documentation submitted with applications made under the European Economic Area Regulations of 2006. Like this

Amari2051,

Your original timeline was a little misleading as you only mentioned requesting passports back 14th November (when actually it seems you may have requested passports back 3 times?).

Also you stated that you got no reply to the original 2 requests when it seems you did receive the automated response?

The automated response states in part "We will not reply directly to your email".

If they have indeed replied directly to your email then I would say this is unusual.

It seems you have no choice but to follow their instructions and send a letter to the address provided.

Good luck.

Corrected timeline

Post by craxy1102 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:02 pm

Hey guys,

My timeline that I had as my signature, was off by a few days, so I have corrected it, I actually made the application on the 23rd of July. (NOT THE 27th).

Today is the 114th day without a passport. In God we Trust :)

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I also requested my passport back and got an automated reply about 10 days.

I really need my passport as I was offered a job and my passport is needed for a background check. If I don't get it by the end of next week I will loose my job offer :(
Do you know if they return the passports if it is NOT for traveling but for some other important issue? I am really worried that they will just ignore my request.

passport requested

Post by flipper77 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 6:14 pm

I thought I'd add my timeline so far, and my opinion on the passport requests...

I see people have been completing a form from the UKBA website, though I don't know that it is necessary, as the UKBA page states:

Return of Document Requests

If you will be travelling in the future (for example, in the next month or later) and need your documents back, please email your request to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk. Please provide details of your travel plans and your Home Office reference if possible.

Please provide details of your travel plans and your Home Office reference and the postage reference number.
(http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucit ... /applying/)

However, I did use the form that others have talked about (found here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... documents/), which I sent yesterday, firstly to the email address on the form: RODRequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and then I realised it should have probably gone to: LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk - so I sent the request to that one too.

I received automated responses from both email addresses, with the LiverpoolEuro response stating "usually within 10 days". Fingers crossed!
