Lockdown until March 31: Small print in legislation shows shut down set to last MONTHS - print news.

Possibility that lockdown will last till 31 March

That's the expiry of the regulations concerning the Tiers in England, it doesn't mean that the national lockdown will last until that date. Paragraph 14(1) is still in effect:
14.—(1) The Secretary of State must review—

(a)whether each area that is part of the Tier 2 area or of the Tier 3 area should continue to be part of that area at least once every 14 days, with the first review to be carried out by 16th December 2020;

(b)the need for each of the Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 restrictions at least once every 28 days, with the first review to be carried out by 30th December 2020.
Having said this, based on the PM's speech, it's unlikely anything will change before the 2nd half of Feb / early Mar.

Obviously nothing is certain for now but most likely.
But the small print of the law - which already came into effect at midnight and is being approved retrospectively - shows it could last longer.

While Health Secretary Matt Hancock must review the rules at least every two weeks, he’ll have the power to keep them until March 31.

Hiya
I got approval 14 Oct , not get any update but yesterday emailed nationality enquiries and they reply to wait 20 working days and the important thing this chapter ( Citizenship ceremonies and ceremony invitations

Government restrictions in relation to COVID-19 have understandably restricted the ability of local authorities to provide citizenship ceremonies, as the safety of customers must be paramount

Whilst we will continue to work closely with our local authorities to expand the provision of citizenship ceremonies, including the expansion of availability of virtual ceremonies, due to the changing restrictions and guidance relating to COVID-19, it is not possible at this time to advise when a certificate will be despatched once an application has been approved.

However, we can confirm that we have just completed the processing of certificates and ceremony invitations for applications that were approved in September and have now commenced processing those for applications approved early October.

Ceremony invites are sent by 2nd class post and can take up to 10 working days to be delivered.

We will update our website with any new information, in particular, in relation to the time it might take to despatch certificates. Please be assured that once a customer receives their Citizenship Ceremony Invitation Letter, they will still have up to six months within which to complete ceremony.

Exceptional circumstances relating to an urgent need to complete a British citizenship ceremony will, of course, be taken into consideration, with the appropriate supporting evidence. If you need to undertake a ceremony urgently, please contact us at Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk. However, we are unable to guarantee that we will able to expedite any ceremony request at this time)
Seems they working on October , wish next week receive letters

Hello all,
which department or email address should I email to get a ceremony invitation letter or notification. My family and I have been waiting for more than 3 months to get our ceremony invitation. By my recollection, ceremonies invitation should be a week after nationality decision.

Any help will be appreciated

Hey bro,
Hounslow called me today. They will do a virtual ceremony same day and time and asked me for that Microsoft Team app which I already had. Tried to push my luck and ask for an earlier fay but she said its only a few days. It will be half the fee though. Only 125

Thank you for the update. Glad to be reassured that virtual ceremonies are going ahead and will be saving £125. They called you a week ago. Mine is on 15/1. Probably will get a call in 1-2 days also. I also tried to push my luck and email them for an earlier date if possible but no reply so far. True our dates are just around the corner. Little more patience. Good luck and keep me posted please. Thank you.

Does anyone know how the virtual ceremony works in regards to the Naturalisation certificate?

Do they post it to your home address after the ceremony? Do they keep it until we can go in person to collect it?

I can’t find any information about it.
Thanks
It is posted.
Does anybody know how long is taking councils to send the Naturalisation Certificates? Do they send them right after the ceremony?

I won’t be at home for the following weeks (possibly during the new lockdown). I found out it is Special Delivery and it needs to be signed.
