Might be accepted, but they're not wrong. The official advice says mistakes must be corrected by crossing out the erroneous text and putting the correct text in the next available boxes.tinux wrote: Post office tried to confuse us with their checks at first so i decided to send it without their checking. they claimed that I with a dot is not acceptable and using tipp-Ex on a non used box that was crossed out will also be rejected; let wait and see

I had similar problem with them at the post office when i was about to post my son's passport application, i was asked to fill another application, i insisted that i don't have to and she was asking for more document, e.g my passport and my naturalization certificate and i explained to her that i don't need naturalization certificate because i have ILR b4 giving birth to my son, and my passport has been posted to naturalization section that i only have copy, she refused to accept it.tinux wrote:seputus wrote:tinux wrote: Post office tried to confuse us with their checks at first so i decided to send it without their checking. they claimed that I with a dot is not acceptable and using tipp-Ex on a non used box that was crossed out will also be rejected; let wait and see

The IPS customer service is the best customer service I dealt with by a long way. I am not only referring to public bodies, but also some of the biggest household private company names. They are very efficient, friendly and highly professional. I plan to write then a letter of appreciation after I get my passport!!

When I called to schedule my interview after receiving the first interview letter, I realized that they had made an error on my birthdate (the year was 20 off), this caused over a week of delay and lots of nailbiting.
£3.00 which is a bargain if you compare it to Royal Mail Special Delivery.kindle wrote: How much extra did you pay for special delivery for your return of documents?
Thanks BigSam. If I apply for my passport by post (not via check & send), I need to fill in a payment form. I am wondering how much I need to write including the special delivery?BigSam wrote:£3.00 which is a bargain if you compare it to Royal Mail Special Delivery.kindle wrote: How much extra did you pay for special delivery for your return of documents?
IPS will return your documents by TheDX and if you give them a call a few days after you apply, they will give you the reference number to track your documents online!!
You are welcome buddy!!kindle wrote: Thanks BigSam. If I apply for my passport by post (not via check & send), I need to fill in a payment form. I am wondering how much I need to write including the special delivery?

The amount you need to write is £75.50 (which is £72.50 for passport fees plus the £3.00 for secure return of documents)
IPS are absolutely brilliant, even if you put a completley made up amount, they will still charge you the correct fees. See below extract from their notes:
"If you do not write the correct fee in the instruction, we will still charge the correct fee for the service you have asked for"
In the same document, the IPS says:
"What you can expect from us
Our staff will be polite, helpful and professional"
I can confirm that the above is an accurate description of their service
