I received my OCI yesterday 04/11/2021, after being dispatched from Birmingham VFS on 03/11/2021, however there was no status update on when it was dispatched from Birmingham. I got notification that it was on way via DX Delivery.

All in all, whole process took 6 weeks for a new OCI application.

Hi

I have submitted application for my son, 4 months, and daughter, 4 years, on 10th Nov. It’s been a week and I have still not received any acknowledgment email.

Do HCI delay in sending acknowledgment email? I am getting worried as I have booked my flight ticket to go to India for 13th Jan.

I never received any email or sms whatsoever

Two days after submitting documents at vfs i checked online status on oci website.there they mentioned acknowledgment date.

Anyone recently applied at VFS - Belfast? Do they take your UK passport along with the application? I have a travel next day coming up, and would like to take only the UK passport with me back. Do they accommodate the request?

No they don’t take UK passport, they will check and return it. They will keep original copy of your naturalization certificate and this shall be couriered back to you in a week

Hi There,

I am currently in process of applying OCI for my family of 4. I have filled online application and now need to book appointment at VFS to physically submit application. I am from Birmingham jurisdiction but there are no appointments available in any VFS in Birmingham jurisdiction. I am thinking to resubmit application in London jurisdiction and submit application at VFS Belfast because there are many appointments. I have couple of queries on this

- Do we need to visit VFS twice, if yes then do we need to same VFS second time to submit British passport when OCI application status shows approved? Or we can visit any VFS in that jurisdiction?
- I am planning to visit on my own to submit application on behalf of my wife and kids. I will take an authorisation letter from my wife. Is there anything else I need to carry?

If anyone can answer who has recently submitted OCI application then it will be really helpful.

But it still can't track the parcel. Hoping I will receive in couple of days.

Only one visit is required. My daughter was born here and has british passport. I am not sure what the procedure is if you have indian passport as well.

Same(delivered Birmingham) for me! Looks like both our applications are in same batch.
How did they confirm that your would receive it today? did you call them.

I emailed them yesterday as it status was unchanged since last week. After few emails they responded saying it is being dispatched and I will get it today. But looks like they haven't yet dispatched. Probably will happen today. Sat is my travel. This will take it to last minute I think.
Please keep me posted if there are further updates on your side.

Do we need to sign again below our uploaded signature?
Do we need to paste another picture on page no 2 and sign again below that?
Declaration page needs signature of applicant which is page 4?
In case of minors, the parents can only sign on page 4 at declaration, the rest all need to be either thumb impression or signature?

Any guidance will be very helpful. I have an appointment next week and I am going to submit n behalf of everyone in my family so don't want to miss any requirement otherwise they will not take application.

Do we need to sign again below our uploaded signature? Only needs to be uploaded, finger print for kids and VFS will ask you to sign under finger print, they l make you sign at counter
Do we need to paste another picture on page no 2 and sign again below that? Don’t paste photo anywhere, hand photos to VFS and they l stick themselves. There is no place to stick photo or sign on page 2 of OCI application.

Declaration page needs signature of applicant which is page 4? Yes correct, sign it on your appointment, for kids don’t worry any of parent can sign

Please upload all your documents required online otherwise they l not take your application. I had to do this, please make a note of below

Photo has to be 2” X 2”, two copies. Printed photo and upload one has to be same
Upload parents passports and parents BRP
Upload address proof
Upload naturalisation / registration certificate
Upload kids birth certificate
Upload kids U.K. passport
Upload kids Indian passport and surrender certificate if applicable
Upload parents marriage certificate

Thank you Faridds,

It is very helpful advice. It is just a guideline on VFS site confused me. It states applicant need to sign under their uploaded signature and past picture on next page and sign under that. See on this link https://visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/in ... /Photo.pdf

In reality there are only 2 places on application where signature is required one is uploaded and other signed at declaration.

It is helpful to know that it is not required.
