Hi All, one question please if anyone can help.

My potential employer had done an RLMT earlier in March with less salary but after seeing the high cut-offs etc they agreed to higher salary and did another RLMT. Now after getting the news of removing docs and nurses they are planning to reduce the salary so can they use the earlier RLMT or will have to do it again?

Thanks
they can use the earlier RLMT if it is not older than 6 months.

Just got an email from employer .
You were rejected again and soc code is 2136. We assume you got rejected due to salary.
This is 3rd trial and the salary I was offered 45k can someone explain if i am on 2136 soc code with 45k salary will always get rejected as they say or assumed? Because they will not change the salary for my role! I think they are missing something ?
Appreciate helping me

It’s clearly mentioned that changes will be applicable 6th July onwards.
That itself means up to june’18 it’s business as usual.

Hi

Sorry to hear , Is it rejected or refused , both are different , if it refused means right now Government allocating COS only for candidates having salary more than 50K. Better luck next time.

Rejected means please contact your employer , they might miss something.

Recent results seem to suggest, the cut-off will be 46. There was one person who had his RCOS approved for 50K salary a few days ago.

Not all jobs under 2136 are shortage occupation!! Only very specific jobs and qualifying companies can use SOL for 2136.

How can we know about such companies and jobs, because Appendix K doesn't mention anything about this?

2136 Programmers and software development professionals

Only the following jobs in this occupation code:

Senior developer employed by a qualifying company, where the job requires a person with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and demonstrable experience of having led a team.

The following jobs in visual effects and 2D/3D computer animation for the film, television or video games sectors:

software developer
shader writer
games designer
The following jobs in the electronics system industry:
driver developer
embedded communications engineer

Thats the only Software dev related occupation listed, I think.
to add on...In this Appendix “qualifying company” means a company which:
(a) has obtained permission from the Home Office to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship in respect of the relevant job on the basis that the job is included on the Shortage Occupation List and the company:
(i) is licensed as a sponsor for the purposes of Tier 2 of the Points Based System,
(ii) at the time of obtaining such permission, employs between 20 and 250 employees (inclusive), or employs fewer than 20 employees and has provided a letter from the Department for International Trade, confirming that the Department has been working with the company and supports the application in relation to its trade or investment activity,
(iii) is not more than 25% owned by a company which has one or more other establishments in the UK and one of those establishments employs more than 250 employees; and
(iv) has not been established in the UK for the purpose of supplying services exclusively to a single company or company group in the UK; and
(b) will have no more than ten Tier 2 (General) Migrants working for it at any one time in jobs to which the requirement to be employed by a qualified company applies, if all Certificates of Sponsorship in respect of such jobs lead to a grant of leave as a Tier 2 (General) Migrant.

Hii Guys

there are some more good news also for IT/Teaching profession. UK Govt is considering review of its shortage list and considering allowing unlimited number of IT/Teachers once they complete the review of its shortage list.

The new structure would allow an unrestricted number of non-EU professional to enter the UK in the acute shortage areas like IT, engineering and teaching.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/nr ... 619479.cms

Let us hope this is also effective from july.

So let me get this straight they can apply under this code number and this means it is not under sol ?

2136 is a non shortage in Appendix J and a shortage in Appendix K. To qualify as a shortage occupation, it must be a job with a qualifying company (as explained above). The specific sector listed above is also one which is only applicable to 2136 being shortage occupation.

Please do not go by this source. This is their interpretation of the government policy which was announced on 15 and don't believe anything has changed then what we know already. They are just assuming that people will get through more easily (because now with Doctors and Nurses excluded from the Tier 2 cap) this frees up those RCoS which they would have received earlier. I highly doubt the the "unrestricted" word in the article.

45 points refusal!
Just got an email from HR confirming refusal, as it did not meet the minimum points. Have been trying since Jan. Was on 36 points earlier and then raised to 45 in April but still no luck. Had to come back to India as previous visa expired end of last month. Not sure when this wait will end and if employers will have that kind of patience.

Yes understand your point, but it seems it is altogether new news because it has been reported in almost all the news paper. Please check the links below.

Hope it turns out be a welcome news soon. It is mentioned that this has been laid before parliament and it is pending approval now.

Hope for the best.

I highly doubt the the "unrestricted" word in the article.
Yes, I completely agree with voldy1990. The newspaper has misunderstood the immigration related changes UK HO released recently.
Please check the links given.I believe this is not as same as removal of nurses and doctors and its favorable effect on other professions(40% efffect due to removal). There are lot of IT occupations under shortage list and government wants to review this and they dnt want any restrictions on those jobs. That is my understanding after analysis of all the news headlines given in the link. Hope for the best :-)

Hii Guys

there are some more good news also for IT/Teaching profession. UK Govt is considering review of its shortage list and considering allowing unlimited number of IT/Teachers once they complete the review of its shortage list.

The new structure would allow an unrestricted number of non-EU professional to enter the UK in the acute shortage areas like IT, engineering and teaching.

Let us hope this is also effective from july.

Agreed that the news on review of shortage list is new. But statements like UK Govt is considering review of its shortage list and considering allowing unlimited number of IT/Teachers once they complete the review of its shortage list are quite misleading as you would know only highly skilled / specialised jobs make it to the shortage list and it will never apply entirely to any given profession. Thanks for sharing the news though. Cheers!

Dear Moderator & Others,

I am sorry to ask this silly question, but understanding this Appendix J & K thing fails me!
Can anyone please tell me if job code: 2423 is under shortage occupation?
Thanks.
