Just updating this post for completion sake with ceremony date...

Also, perhaps this will be useful to others... I managed to throw away the invitation letter along with a lot of junk mail imagine that!
Luckily i had taken a quick photo of the letter so that I had some sort of reference number and since I had used NCS, the lady at the town hall remembered me and said they have some discretion about it even though they are instructed by the HO to collect originals.Another good reason to use NCS I suppose. It was quite a pleasant ceremony and lasted about an hour and a half, followed by tea with the mayor and mayoress, but that probably varies from council to council, this was Windsor and Maidenhead.

Eligibility criteria: Spouse
Language criteria met: UK degree
Method of application: National Checking Service
Council name if NCS used: Maidenhead
Date of application: 23 May
Payment method CC/DC, Personal cheque, Bankers cheque etc: CC
Date of receipt by UKBA: dont know
Date of acknowledgment: 30 May
Date of debit or clearance of fees: end of May
Date approval received: 4th Sep (dated 26th Aug)
Date of ceremony: 15th September

I cant complain, the ncs person told me when i applied that although it could take 6 months, they were advised by the Home Office that 3 months is what they should be suggesting as a rough timeline. Good luck.

Congratulations Other neighbouring councils can arrange a ceremony for you I suppose.

If it was me I'd put a special request to have my ceremony at The Emirates ( that's probably why I'm still waiting)

Phoned HO twice, first time they said the application is under processing then the second time said the application is under reviewing!!!!

straightforward case, no offence, clear record. did call 2 time.
1st time ans: depend on the case how complicated it is, I was told them, its simply straightforward case, he was reply then don't need to worry about it.
2nd time ans: As recorded ans, it will take 6 month. you just reach 4 month.

I'm wondering if the 5year+ residency applications are actually taking less time to be processed than the spouse 3year residency applications.

I noticed that most of the recent approvals are given to people who meet the residency requirement of 5 years and over. ( correct me If I'm wrong)

Haven't called the HO call centre since I started getting mixed information ( sometimes they see it in the system sometimes not. Sometimes it's with a case worker sometimes they can't see it again) which made them look like a non reliable source of information (in a more blunt term ... A joke ) Decided not to call HO again ... Still a waiting observer...
