Maashaa'Allaah congratulations. That's great news.

Quick question. Isn't the VAC closed on weekends or did you receive the call yesterday?

Still waiting almost 13 months ☹️

Hi

I have received an email from my solicitor titled Passport Collection.

Dear Applicant

This is to inform you that your processed visa application have been received at the UK visa application center ISLAMABAD. Application can be collected from Monday to Friday during (0800-1600 hrs). Friday prayer break during (1300-1400 hrs).

However the email does not have my wife's name. It doesn't have the GWF reference number either.

Now this could be for other clients that have given their case with my solicitor as well.

My wife has not received any text message.

My question is does my wife call the Islamabad vac on Monday next week or does she physically go to the Islamabad vac.

Has anyone else experienced this before.

I would appreciate any help and advice.

Been waiting over a year since the biometrics in July 2019.

If you still want to be asking if the mail is addressed to you or not, as you You engaged a solicitorinquire from him why it is not specific to or make reference to any detail about you or GWF number or he is mixing you up with other clients of his and not asking people on here. However, the surest means to know is since the collections times are stated, let your spouse go there with the passport collection mail.

Anyone with delayed response with over 120WD, precisely 26weeks?

Visa application Spouse visa (Husband)

Online application 17th January 2020

Biometrics 14th February 2020

Visa type: Standard (Non-priority)

I got confirmation that a decision has been made o my application since 9th June 2020 with follow up response mail on 3rd August 2020 that my application has been referred to relevant team to return my documents.

This wait is nerve-wracking!

You can track the application on TLS via gov.uk, if the application status shows transferred to VAC, then you can collect.
I see TLS lagos just opened on 27 July and given they are only working two days a week and the volume of visa applications from the center compared to others, it might take another week or two or more. Most cases are waiting an average of a month after their regional VAC opens to get an email. Exercise some patience and keep yourself busy, won't be long.

If tracking not working but already receive collection mail, then let partner go for collection of her passport.

Sure. Please see below timeline. Applied on behalf of partner from Kenya:

Online application submitted - 01 July 2020
Partner went for biometrics - 15 July 2020
Message to collect passport - 21 August 2020

1) If her visa has been approved and she has got the visa sticker in her passport is there anything else I need to do or can she just book her flight?

2) Just to confirm, does she only need to present following at UK immigration upon arrival or is there anything else? :
- her passport with the visa sticker
- TB certificate
- complete submit this form: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-cont ... -travel-uk

I. E. Will she be asked for anything else or interviewed etc, just want to make sure so she's not held up there because we forgot something.

Thanks a lot

It's definitely good news.
She also needs to present the visa approval letter that she gets with her passport back.
She can just book her flight. ( indirect flights are way cheaper at the moment and only a few hours longer)
She may be asked any general questions about you, your adress, phone number, your relationship bla bla bla. But depends on the IO she meets.

On a side note keep an eye on travel news if the Government approves Covid-19 test on arrival this week to beat the self quarantine requirement.

I feel your pain AS4LYFT! It's well. Did you you use a solicitor for your application? If not, I recommend you get one and make an official enquiry.

Yes I did use a solicitor.

In fact I'm going to get my solicitor to complain sometime this week.

Been over 13 months since the biometrics. 9 months if you exclude the 4 months the home office was closed for from Monday 23 March - Monday 27 July 2020.

I gave my case in Pakistan in case anyone wants to know.

Thanks guys, good news. She's got her visa. Thanks for all your help guys. One last thing, once she enters, where/when does she get stamped on her passport which shows the 33 month visa? Or is that shown on her BRP card once we collect?

And does she need to present both brp and the passport with vignette if she travels back and forth to Kenya etc?

Thanks
Shyam

It would be helpful if you continued in your existing topic you already have as posts simply get lost in this topic.

1. Once she enters the UK, her temporary visa vignette will be stamped on arrival. She then has to collect her BRP card (which is her visa) within 10 days form your nominated Post Office. There is no such thing as 'stamped passport showing 33 months visa'.

2. If she travels out of the UK, she needs to travel with BOTH her passport and BRP card (don't lose it, expensive to replace). She needs the BRP card, which is the visa and proof of right to enter the UK to be able to board a plane. She needs the same on arrival in the UK to prove she has a valid visa to enter the UK.
