EEA2 Application Timelines - ONLY 1 TOPIC - UpToDate

Does anyone here know, having been told that their application is in the final stages or with the finalisation department, whether this means that the application for RC has been approved and is awaiting dispatch?

It seems that it is only recently that applicants are being told this and I am now beginning to suspect that this may be another delaying tactic after being told for 6 months that the application is 'under consideration'.

Any thoughts anyone?

Application sent on 20/04/10
HO received on 21/04/10
COA arrived 1/06/10 (dated 21/05/10)
Wrote to H.O to inform them of change of address on 16/06/10
Emailed H.O to make sure they are aware of new address 5/08/10 received reply same day (said they would forward email to correct dept.)
Surprise package received this morning 27/08/10,it contained our passports!! RC was granted on 12/08/10.
4 Months 6 Days - From the day they received my application to the day it was returned to me!

I got my COA on 24th of February 2010 then married with my wife 21st of April 2010 sent all required documents to HOME OFFICE on by very end of JULY but still have not heard anything from HOME OFFICE not even any confirmation letter. I did try to call Home Office & they said that they had sent my confirmation letter right on the same week when they received my documents but I have not got anything yet. Will anyone plz tell me how long HOME OFFICE will take to decide or when I will get my passport back.

Anxiously waiting for someone to reply. Guys I really need help

Did you receive the RC inside the passport as a sticker? I do NOT want a stand alone document, I can only begin to imagine the hassle it will cause in third countries when trying to fly back to the UK.. Who's going to trust a piece of paper?

Hello guys,

Just a quick question. I intend to send my EEA2 application form tomorrow but I have the following doubt.
I entered the UK with a family permit in Nov 2009. During its validity I started to work full time and got an National Insurance Number.
Now, my Family Permit is not valid anymore since Apr 30, 2010 and I am still working. Would it be negative for my EEA2 application to send my wage slips and my contract so the HO can see I am living in the same address and flat as my wife (I'll be sending her wage slips and contract too)? Of course she is working full time and exercising her treaty rights. Do you think I can be penalised because I started working without having applied for a RC before the end of my Family Permit validity? I believe I am doing everything within my rights, correct?

I was totally surprised when I opened the package to find my documents and passports enclosed!
My advice would be to send in a very detailed, organised application file so that they can’t send anything back to you (mine weighted in at 2kg)! And always send by Special delivery with a return envelope enclosed.

Does anyone know if I need a visa to travel through the EU now that I have my RC? Or just my RC? (I’m South African, hubby is Portuguese)

You don't need anything else, just your RC.
I asked for my papers today to get my Insurance Number and the guy said that because of that the RC is gonna take even longer!!!
Can you imagine? :S
I hope I can have them for xmas as my husband is also Portuguese and we'd like to go there.

My husband's COA arrived today. We posted it on 11 August and it arrived on 04 September, taking less than 4 weeks, i was very surprised it arrived so quickly. Here's hoping his RC is as quick (though not getting my hopes up!!)

My husband also sent his EEA2 on 13 august by recorded delivery. But still we do not have any acknowledgement letter from HO. But on internet Royal mail website we have Evidence of reciving on 16 august.
My question is that are HO send acknowledge about receiving EEA2 application or Not???????

sometimes they just send the COA ...but u should call them to confirm your application

I am now going to miss my best friend's wedding in 2 weeks time as I don't have my passport and can't travel. I am getting very impatient and need to travel next month also. I have tried to contact the number provided on the COA but it isn't possible to speak to someone to get an update. I don't really want to request for my passport to be returned before my application has been processed. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do or perhaps another number that I can try where I can actually speak to an individual?

my friend's wife's EEA2 applications along with all original documents this week. I am wondering whether the dept will return original passports and marriage certificate for a period (say 10 days), as i will need the same for a trip to another EU country.

It has been a really stressful time for us just like so many others. We hope that all of you still waiting will receive good news soon.

I must confess that I am a little annoyed that when I telephoned UKBA shortly prior to completion of 6 months we were being told "still under consideration" even though the RC and accompanying letters were all dated prior to my telephone call.

I have applied for an eea2 since 2009 september and am yet to recieve my RC,this application includes me and my son who is from a previous relationship.i have got my MP involved and solvit,and my solicitor as also written to the home office that we want to seek judicial review.i recieved communication from solvit saying they have intervened in the matter and that i should let them know when i recieve a communication from the home office.but i rang the home office yesterday to request an update on the application but i was told what they have always told me since my application reach 6months[still under consideration]pls guys i have seen alot of success on here pls your advice is urgently needed.does solvit really work?and does dat mean i will recieve my RC soon thank.

Why do you think they didnt stamp on your passport?Why on just a piece of paper,while many applicants have their stamp on passport!!!

Why do you think they didnt stamp on your passport?Why on just a piece of paper,while many applicants have their stamp on passport!!!

It seems those who request their passports back before the application has been completed are being issued with these documents..

hi. hunpak,thanks for ur concern,i have made complains to my MP,solvit and also to the NORTWEST costumer service. and when i called the home office they still tell me its under consideration,any idea what dat means cus they have been saying that for about 6months now,and any other ideas wot i can do. the nortwest costumer service has not replied my complaint since i sent it.thanks alot.

When did you complain to the Northwest complaints dept. Keep in mind that they do take upto 20 calendar days to get back, thats their SLA 9Service Level Agreement)
