Only one marriage would be recognised, but you can have a s.exual relationship with as many women as you want. Women can have multiple partners too. Where do wives get kept? Is that keeping as in keeping horses?

You can have four in UK as well if you want. However only one is recognized as your wife in English law.

You can though carry out Islamic nikah with a further three ( as Islamic nikah is not recognized in law in UK because it was carried out here......it would though be recognized if it was carried out is a Islamic country )but they would not be legally recognized as your wives for benefit purposes.

Hope that clears the matter. However you must remember that Islam requires you treat them all equals in every aspect of life.

Well it would be impossible in the UK because only one would have a legally recognised marriage, the others would be s.exual partners only. Only one would be able to go to the courts to divorce and so on....

Perhaps the original poster has a few needy widows, orphans, divorcees, ex slaves or prisoners of war in mind that need the protection of marriage in the lawless and dangerous UK. There is obviously also such a severe gender imbalance in the UK that polygamy makes sense for social cohesion.

Muslims are not allowed to marry more than one wife simply for sexual pleasures as has been suggested here.

Have a read of Annex C, which is part of the guidance given to UKBA staff dealing with applications.
