IRISH NATURALIZATION

Post by diniwid » Sat Apr 14, 2012 12:00 am

Hello everyone,

Im Filipino living in Ireland for 4 years and im currently in Jobseekers benefit. Nxt year im gonna start applying for my naturalization. Is there any chance they may reject or disqualify my application because im getting Jobseekers allowance?as we all know its really hard to get a job at the moment. Im currently training through FAS level 6 Business Administration.
also i wanna know if its true that the process of application is now only 6 months??

Many Thanks

diniwid :)

hi as of my personal experience i know some people who never worked and still got their approvals, and you worked before and if you r doing fas course try to find some job even part time for safe side , you have lots of time to apply so you should be able to find the job and when you will apply the timeline would be definitely six months ,best of luck.

What payment are you getting?
Jobseekers Benefit(Contribution based) This based on your contribution while you were working and is time limited. As far as I have read on these boards, it doesn't affect your application.
or
Jobseekers Allowance (means-tested) If getting this payment, then there are numerous obstacles put in your way during processing.

hope someone who is more aversed will give you more info.

IQU where are you? you seem to know many requirements! :)

Im getting Job seekers allowance at the moment. I just renewed my Stamp 4 today valid till next year.and I was advice to submit my application for naturalization next year Oct 2013 as thats my fifth year. I ask the immigration officer and YES there few cases they reject application if the person is in JB or JA. Im getting scared. I had a partner for 4 years which is Irish (not married) just cohabit. I dont know if ithat will help. Im from the Philippines By the way. My course will be finish on Oct 2012. and hopefully will get a job before i pass my application.and also I asked the immigration officer how long is the process and he said as soon as the backlog is finished it will be more quicker process..if you know anyone been rejected because of JB aand JA..let me know :?

IQU where are you? you seem to know many requirements! :)
its quite understandable in this recession alot of people facing the unemployment.is all depend on your work history.how long you worked in state.how long are you clam the job seeker allowance.i think its much better to contribute to irish ecomony rather than depend on socail welfare. i think you should find some kind of part time job and make sure if your claming any socail welfare you should register with fas and try to make every effort to find job. good luck
