Schengen Visa - French Embassy in Dublin

Post by andyjohnst » Mon Apr 16, 2012 1:34 pm

Afternoon,

I am a UK citizen living and working in Ireland with my Non-EU spouse. She currently has a Stamp 4 temporary GNIB card while they finish off her RC application. Been living in Ireland from 2 December 2011, with my wife and I have been in full time employment since 20 December 2011.

Wehnwe applied for the entry visa to Ireland (back in December) we only sent of our passports and our UK marriage cert. Looking over the Franch embassy website, for issue of a schengen visa they have requirements (i.e. confirmed flights/travel, insurance, bank statements etc etc)

I do have these documents, baring the insurance. Might be difficult getting that for my wife as she is pregnant at this moment in time. I don't know, I've not looked into it fully. But, we are sending the bulk of these documents off to INIS in Ireland to go with her RC application.

Surely I do not have to give all these??

Will it suffice to just send in our Passports, wife's GNIB card and UK marriage cert?

Does anyone have any experience with this, as such what did they submit etc?

Thanks.

I've no specific experience, but the basic requirements are:

Her passport.
Proof that you are married.
Proof that you are EU citizen (passport).

They may wish to see evidence that you actually intend to visit France. It may help to have proof of residence in Ireland.

Checking the relevant page on the consulate website, it seems that the consulate just copied and paste from the normal Schengen visa. This should not be the case for family members of EEA nationals.

Other French consulates only require minimal set of documents - see Edinburgh
