Tier 1 general dependant

Post by saudbs » Sun Apr 22, 2012 9:05 pm

Hi

Can someone help us please?

I am on tier 1 general visa in uk and its valid until march 2013. I got married in march 2012 in UK and my wife is on student visa here.

I understand she needs to go back to home country and apply for my dependant visa from her home country. My questions are

1) If my wife apply for dependant visa in july 2012 and my visa is going to expire in march 2013. So my visa will expire in 7 months and I will switch to ILR. Is there any possibility of rejection? or they will give her dependant visa even my visa expires in 7 months ?

2) What documents i need to attach with application? list below is missing anything?

a)My last 6 months bank statements.
b)My last 6 months payslips.
c)p60
d)marriage certificate
e)tenancy agreement, council tax and utility bills with our names.
f)marriage pictures? but how many?

3)I understand i had to maintain my account for last 3 months with minimum of approx. 1400 pounds but I didnt because of marriage expenses. Can I give them the reason that I couldnt maintain account because of my marriage expenses? or should i start to maintain account and apply after 3 months?

4)She doesnt work so she cannot show her job or anything but she has flat in her home country, should we attach property documents?

Thanks,

Thanks,
1 - No - Length of ur visa validity have no direct implications on decision making for your dependent
2 - all okay. You can include 2-3 photos, though this is not a requirement at all !!!
3 - No, personal circumstances are not considered and warrant a waiver of requirement. To my knowledge, if you have been in the uk for more than 12 months you need about £900 not £1400, though better double check !!!
4 - You dont need to show anything under her name. She is coming as dependent. If you have any bills coming under a joint name under ur UK address, use that instead or even NHS registration card etc

Good luck

Thanks very much for your reply raxs1983.

Last question:

When I attach my documents with application, Does order of documents matter? I mean marriage certificate first,Bank statements second, payslips third and so on?

No - It does not matter, however, sensible order would be -

Application Form
Your Employment Contract (if you have one, supply the copy)
Payslips
Bank Statements
Marriage Certificate
Photographs (again this is not mandatory but good to supply)
Tenancy Contract / Land Registry document if you own the house

Hi Guys

While doing online application for my wife. I am bit confused about few things.

1) Section 6 - Main Applicant Employment Details

Does that means my details? Even I am not applying for visa this time.

2) Section 6 - Employment and Finances

Here they are asking for wife details? she doesnt work so I have answered unemployed. Then they are asking for monthly income and living cost.

Should I write some living cost? and monthy income is none?

3) Should I provide additional information like I am working full time in UK and mention my salary and provide details about my marriage?

4) Do I need any covering letter stating that she couldnt apply from UK as she was on student visa so she had to go back and apply from her home country?

Thanks,

Thanks,
