Tier2 Guest Relations Manager

Post by arrie79 » Mon Apr 23, 2012 5:06 pm

Hi All

I am very thankful to all the members in this forum for the wealth of information that gets posted here. I have been able to apply by myself my student and PSW visas from here..Thanks

I am currently on a PSW visa that expires on 30/06/12 and my current employer is willing to offer and sponsor me for the post of Guest Relations manager in the same hotel where I currently work even tough the position pays £21500 (This May be hourly they have not told me yet) I am unsure under what SOC code can I apply before 14 June 2012 and will this salary meet the threshold set as below. Thanks for your inputs in advance.
-------------------------------
Applications for Entry Clearance or Switching into Tier 2 (General)

63. If you are applying to work in the UK the Certificate of Sponsorship must confirm that the job is at NQF level 4 (or the equivalent in Scotland) as stated in the Tier 2 codes of practice or appears on the list of shortage occupations. This does not mean that you must be educated to this level, it means that the job is at that level. The Certificate of Sponsorship must also confirm that you will be paid at or above the appropriate rate for
the job. These requirements are set out in the codes of practice on our website at: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/busin ... ofpractice and the Tier 2 & 5 Sponsor Guidance at: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... sguidance/

Hi Thanks for your reply.

I was looking to apply before 14/06/12 which is when the new rules come in effect. The SOC you have mentioned does not imply to this position. I think the best one is 1142 Customer care managers but the pay rate required is at least £12.51 P/H. My job offer is 39 hours a week and when I calculate the salary, it does not match..so I think I'm helpless here..:(

Experts Please advice..thanks

Hi,

This code is specific for conference & Meetings. The job description of the post I am offered does not correspond to this SOC code..The visa will be refused.

Thanks

The below matches the Job what a Guest Relation Manager Does..This is what I think..and this is what I am unsure of??

1142 Customer care managers
Customer relations manager, Customer service manager,Help desk manager

• develop and implement policies and procedures to deal effectively with customer requirements and complaints
• co-ordinates and controls the work of those within customer services
departments
• discuss customer responses with other managers with a view to improving the product or service provided
• plan, co-ordinate and direct the operations of help and advisory services
to provide support for customers and users
