Ongoing IT ISSUE - Advice Needed

Post by avtarjain1980 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:27 am

Dear Members,

As we know ongoing IT-Issues and Appointment Cancellations at PEOs are creating nuisance.

I would appriciate if you can share your experience OR knowledge about -

i) What would happen if PEO cancels the appointment and advise you to rebook again.
{ because rebooking is not an easy game. One has to do this 42 days in advance on mid-nights each day}

ii) What if we are not able to get another date before expiry of VISA. {IF VISA is expiring couple of weeks after the cancelled appointment}

iii) Can we apply for ILR after VISA expiry {It is not feasible to return to home county overnight to apply from there}
cheers

Hi

To the best of my knowledge I would highly recommend you to avoid Croydon and you're absolutely right for booking another its a night mare honestly but on the other hand I think UKBA will definitely give you the benefit of the problem occuring on their side so if God Forbid even if you apply after your Visa Expiry date I think it shouldn't be a problem.

But going back to your home country and apply from there ITS A BIG NO FROM MY SIDE NO WAY DONT LEAVE UK AT ALL UNLESS AND UNTIL YOU'LL GET YOUR SELF SORTED MATE

These are all my advices for your rest is up to you mate.

Good luck for your ILR.

If you cannot get another appointment before your leave expires then you should apply by post before it expires rather than booking an appointment for afterwards as if you do this you will be applying as an overstayer, will lose the right t
work and will not get a right of appeal if refused. Some peos will also not accept applications from overstayers meaning you will have to apply by post anyway.

You can't apply for ilr from outside the UK.

Thanks for Valuable advises SMAM and Greenie.
My fingers are crossed.
I am not able to find any other PEO dates - Have to face Croydon - No escape.

No Posts of Successful Croydon PEO

Post by avtarjain1980 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:46 pm

Since many days there are No post saying successful PEO at Croydon.
What does this mean -

Are all Croydon applicants facing IT issues OR
Few of those who were successful are not here in this Forum

--

Any idea if this IT problem is only occuring with those who are independent without solicitors or with everyone or with those only who have straighforward cases so CW can work on them later?
cheers

Some posts have indicated that some applicants not accompanies by "solicitors" were sent back home when IT problem occurred, where as some with "escorting solicitors" were made to wait, not sure the outcome ...as the person reported this was obviously the one who was sent home....
Information and/or advice provided by me is of general nature and is not intended to substitute for informed professional legal or other professional advice.

i had an appointment on April 24th but got a cancelled text the previous day. i called the helpline and they said i should attend as the text was sent in error. i attended the appointment - BRP was not working so i was given a letter saying that the application is valid but due to IT issue passport is being held back and will be sent in post asap. in short, although the work was not a 100 percent done, atleast the application is made and they will return the documents when ready...

Extra Booking

Post by avtarjain1980 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:01 pm

Guys,
Does anyone has booked an extra slot using different email-id for any unforeseen circumstance (assume if PEO cancels all appnts for that day and advise to rebook). I can not afford this as my visa would expire in few days.

Should I book another date and if ILR is successful cancel it withut fail.
cheers

Hi Raj422,
I would like to do this as well. However the terms and conditions of creating an online account statest that
"11.The speculative booking of appointments, and the block booking of appointments is not permitted. Any individual or organisation found to be engaged in the speculative or block booking of appointments either manually or by using a computer programme will be prevented from using this service henceforth."

Not sure if booking multiple slots is considered speculative. We are supposed to provide our full name and DOB when booking an appontment, so they will be able to find out if a person has booked more than one appointments. Am worried that if I try to do it the existing appointment is also cancelled!

Has anyone done this successfully and has not had any issues?

Double booking is speculative. Apparently someone has already made a complaint to UKBA about ppl making multiple bookings.

sorry..multiple? speculative?

It is fair to do TWO bookings considering scenario..that too with an intention to cancel one straight away once one gets used...

Those who are not getting bookings , blaming others and complaining to home office..please take the pain to be awake at mid night 00.00 and you will definitely get it..

As somebody pointed out, this way by cancelling our other booking we may be helping some body who needs appointment at earlier date.

Thanks

In addition to above I would say that double booking should only be done by those whose visa is due to expire in few days ahead. If you can wait for a month, you should not book more than 1 appt.

I understand that these cancellations of appointments are a real pain, but something should be done by official channels, I really can't condone people making duplicate bookings, 'just in case'
as Push has stated, this is not permitted by UKBA, and it is also REALLY unfair to the people trying to get appointments. no wonder there are none available!
as for this being ok as it will 'free up' an earlier appointment for somebody else, if the only reason you are rescheduling is to safeguard your original appointment being cancelled, then you are just passing on this possible scenario to someone else...
sorry, but what you are contemplating doing is outrageous as far as I'm concerned

This was changed, when some solicitors and immigration advisors start selling the bookings. The UKBA took their stance and now atleast you can see bookings available even at mid night. Few months ago it was pain in the neck to find a booking...
The question is... to be or not to be....

Quite like the positive spin. First one creates an artificial shortage of appointments by double/multiple bookings and then release the same and claim to help others!!

Anyway, it is up to an individual if he prefers to not abide by the terms and conditions of UKBA's online booking system.

T&C

Post by avtarjain1980 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:05 am

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/navig ... iew=Simple

T&C for Online Booking

2.11
The speculative booking of appointments, and the block booking of appointments is not permitted. Any individual or organisation found to be engaged in the speculative or block booking of appointments either manually or by using a computer programme will be prevented from using this service henceforth.

No individual would book henceforth once ILR is granted. This clause is meant for IT hackers.

2.12 Appointments that are speculatively or block booked and then either transferred or sold will not be honoured and will be cancelled.

We are not going to Sell these extra booking. It is meant for Agencies or Solicitors.

So Multiple Appoinments are not under legal terms. It is more about ethics whereby one without urgency or real need should not book speculative slots.

Slightly flawed argument there. Firstly you assume that everyone booking multiple appointments is applying for ilr. If they are applying for FLR then they may need to use the service in the future. If a person is discovered to be booking speculative appointments then my understanding of what they are saying is that they will be banned from using the same day service including for the current application.

Whether in practice they do this is another matter.
