Payslip-earnings query

Post by nks » Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:39 pm

Hello,

I need to have earnings of 40000 to qualify for my Tier 1 extension. My salary is 35000 but with overtimes and self-employed income, I am able to reach the threshold. I have following confusion if someone could please comment on :

1. Overtime payments can be counted as income. I think yes but just to be double sure.

2. More importantly, though with overtimes, my salary has reached 40000, but there is a section in my payslip which shows 'Annual salary=35000'. I will explain this in cover letter but thought of taking opinion of experts if this have any other implications and anything I should be mindful of in the application.

Thanks,
nks

Yes, overtime pay is counted as it contributes to your Gross pay and you also pay tax to it.

Doesn't it show your total Gross Pay on your payslips? Your final payslip should show the Gross pay you have earned so far from beginning of the companies' financial year. If thats mentioned then there is nothing to worry

Good point. Payslip does show 'Gross till date' so that should suffice. Thank you :)
