UK Spouse Visa- Applicant's orginal passport or Copy

Dear all,

My sisters husband who is from Afghanistan and since the UK embassy in Kabul does not deal with Spouse visa so he has to travel to Pakistan in order to submit his UK spouse visa application in Islamabad.

Does he need to submit his original passport or its copy along with the rest of the documents?

If he submits his passport, then he will have no travel document to travel back to Afghanistan.

This is a big confusion for us. Your guidance will be highly appreciated.

Would imagine they have a process in such cases as they will be aware that he will need to travel .
