Can I go early in the morning? What is the earliest time I can arrive?
They usually do not admit applicants more than 30mins before the appointment time.

@psb,
push is right abt half an hour. I reached there at 9:30am for my 10:20 appnt and they did not let me in until 9:55.
I wud suggest you book an appointment before 9am and possibly at a PEO other than Croydon if you are ok to travel and if you do manage to get an appnt. Else, just prepare your document folder in such a way that you are ready to submit the whole bunch as you would have done through a postal application.
@dehjet,
Many congrats for ur successful application. Just as consolation, yes I am thankful that they did not cancel my appnt completely. I checked online and my credit card available balance has been reduced by £3444. Meaning they have taken the fees.

I managed to book a second appointment at Liverpool for the following week, so that if there are IT problem at Croydon, I can go to Liverpool. If all goes well at Croydon, I cancel my appointment.
If I pay the fee at Croydon and IT problems crop up, can I get a refund and my documents back?

@psb
I am not sure if they would give you an option to get a refund. They didn't offer me and I didn't ask.

You should be able to claim a refund, at least the fee difference between postal and PEO application. I will pay by credit and will make a claim from my credit card if the UKBA fails to refund me the difference. I am sure I will have a case to claim.

@Iriny_k
Yes, I am just waiting until they call me!
After going through other posts it's seems that the response time for these kind of cases is between 10-15 days.
I am planning to call citizens advice bureau tomorrow to know if I have any consumer rights in case it is delayed by more than 15 days.

please post the update if you'll get one. I wrote a complaint to HO yesterday - both emailed and posted, and also wrote to my MP. I'll post if I have any news also.
good luck to us!

@ Raj422 Why are you cancelling your appointment? I called the appointments line this morning and they told me to attend for my appointment as normal on the 25 May.

hi,
Has anyone heard back from UKBA for the 8th May applications ? my documents were taken and sent home saying we will contact you later. This was due to the IT issues and they were not able to process the rest of the applications

Hello naeed,
Unfortunately no updates.
I spoke to Citizen's Advice bureau on Wednesday and they said that because UKBA is a government agency, cases of reduced service by them cannot be considered under trading standards rule. They suggested I should follow the complaint procedure as provided on UKBA website.
I am planning to write a complaint email+letter on Wednesday (15 days after application), as specified in UKBA's compliant procedure and then a week later write to my MP.
Regards

Don't hold your breath for a reply! Despite targets to deal with complaints I am waiting for any sort of reply to a complaint made in writing in March!!

Wow..! since March huh?
I think you should definitely take it a notch up and complain to Ombudsman.

I wrote a complain 2 days after my application. got a reply saying it'll take them 20 working days to reply on my complain. i don't think they take it seriously.

I'm still waiting too naeed.
Applied on 8th May and told to go home because of delays in getting biometric results.
Phoned 0870 606 7766 but they pretty useless. The last guy i spoke to even refused to check my application on their system. Their suggestion is to write a letter.
I wrote a letter to PEO croydon on last thursday and no reponse so far.
