I hope you're well.
We been granted DL in 2010 on article 8 and in the meantime myself and UK born son got permanent settlement (mine 10 years rules and son on MN1)
But the down side of the DL is, my wife and daughter cant switch to my dependants and will have to complete another 3 years on DL. The circumstances on which we applied, are the same.
Now I need your help to apply for their extension.
1- does anyone in the forum have recently applied for DL extension under article 8? And how much time will the home office take ?
2- since the case is already established, I hope is they won't take as much time and checks as they did in the past.
Please help and advice.
Cheers
Looks like the most recent applications are dealt with much quicker nowdays, so if your wife and daughter are going to apply for extension now Im sure it wont take long at all!

Hi guys! Morning to you all regulars( you know who you are) and the not so regulars. I hope i find you in good health today. Remember to keep the faith.
Anyway, enough of the pleasantries.lol! I know quite a few of us are always getting some sort of info from the
http://www.bailii.org/databases.html website. It carries with it a whole host of information about REPORTED court cases. I stressed REPORTED there coz now the MOJ have a new Beta site where you can access some UNREPORTED cases. I have had a sneak preview of some of the cases that involve the child's best interests. I must say that most of the judges in the couple of judgements I have seen, take the best interests of children quite seriously. The issue of having to uproot kids from the only life they have ever known is being taken into consideration by the courts and judges. I know every case is judged on its own merits but it does show that the judges are being considerate of a child's best interests. Have a look on the site and let me know what you think.

Should be ok to go to a local registry. She should go with her husband with proof of the Muslim wedding just incase. If she has kids they should go with her. They will only call Homeoffice if they suspect anything dodgy

Honey you have to contact your MP and then if necessary an Ombudsman.
Its a first time application, right?

Im alright love, thank you for asking!!
Yeah well contacting MP or ombudsman shouldnt go against one as all HO decisions must be unbiased. But I understand your concerns about complaining too much etc... Hopefully you will get decision soon hun!! Im going mad from all this waiting too

@11akb ... as verbina rightly said , you need to contact the ombudsman , it will not go against you my dear, it will rather help in fishing out yr application where ever they dumped it and start processing it.....good luck dear
@ bagaja and justice for me congratulations to you guys ..

Judging by some of the posts on this forum, It seems that the HO are processing visas a lot quicker. I for one had to wait 16 months for an application posted in May 2012. I think they are generally processing fresh applications a lot quicker. I stand to be corrected plus also I think it depends on the complexity or straight forwardness of the case.
