I guess HO categorised nationalities. And timeline for each nationality is different. As for Sri Lankans is the longest. I found my Royal Mail receipt and tracking shows last updated on 21 April. I have sent my application 25 days earlier than Sam but my timeline looks different!

Hi northernby,

my work sent them two separate letter and I think that was the reason i got it, otherwise, it would have taken more time

Sundas,

send them a letter, put your home office ref number, your case id if you have, your special delivery number and ask them if they have received your application, do it as soon as you can.

i hope you get a good response

One question:
If HO won't be able to give card within 6 months, when do they inform the applicants? Last days of 6 months or when? Regards

They send me a letter in the last week of 6th month saying, because of the complexity of your case and all we will need 3 more months to make a decision in your case. This month is 9th month I hope I will get something within a week.

Thats not good at all. Everything of your life will be suspended. I don't know why they issue cards with delay. They don't answer to anyone their reason. Is there any change in Sri Lanka recently? I mean political change? I am trying to understand them.

Hi everyone
Good to see that people are getting positive decisions after march 2017 safe return review thingy. I've still got until 2019 to wait :-/ don't know what the rules are going to be by that time.....
Hoping for the good...
Good luck to you all and me too.

Thanks for your reply. I hope you will receive positive decision for your case soon, may be in few more weeks :) though waiting is very hard thing to do... and it seems HO do not care about it that how it stresses people, how it affects their lives negatively and when you are waiting then just hanging, cannot do anything.

They do not provide any information about case either! They are taking long time, like they must have to utilize this 6 months processing time and giving an early decision is against their policy. Infact, they wants to disturb people and intentionally making things difficult to discourage them to make tough examples for others.

How tracking site works? If today they make a decision immediately comes on site or it shows after 3-4 days with delay? People who received their card please let us know. Regards
