Yes I came with the acknowledgement letter but why we have to do biometric (fingerprints) when we already done them in last application for 5 years stay and added the details in new application.
Thanks
By re-doing biometrics, the validate that the applicant:
- Is in country (UK) when applying by post and not someone else posting/applying on his behalf while absent (you have to send convention travel document and BRP, hence can't theoretically travel back to UK for biometrics after applying)
- Is the same person as the one mentioned in the application and supplied documents
- Is the same person initially granted humanitarian time limited leave
- Lives in the address mentioned in the application form (by receiving biometric request letter and following up request within time limit on letter)
There workarounds for some of the aforementioned, however it is making it very difficult to deceive. I hope this answer makes sense.

Hi
I am silent observer of this forum and appreciate your efforts to help people.
I am due to apply my SET P on the basis of five years refugee status which was granted on 8th June 2013 until 7th June 2018. Biometric card was issued on 6 July 2013 and valid until 7th June 2018.
Is that the biometric card I need to calculate my 5 years from or original grant of refugee status which was granted one month prior to issuing biometric card.
Please help

Hello , you need to apply as soon as possible because the expiry date is the 7th of June 2018. That is the date your 5 years expires and it says the same on your BRP. Dont waste time mate.

Hi, You have to apply for it as soon as possible because you are granted till 7th June and your's Biometric also will expire on the same date when you were granted refugee status. You have to count from the date of 8th june 2013.

Is anyone who applied and waiting for their decision received any kind of notification from HO instead of email?
One of my friend received the notification on second month after date of submission which explains that HO can't make decision within six month .

I applied on 19 April and received first email on 27 April. If it was supposed to be monthly update I must have received the second email on 27 May but today is 29 May (no email received) so what does it mean if you don’t receive no further updates?

So does it mean it will take longer when you actually don’t receive monthly updates? Anyone one else who may have experienced this? People who received emails have usually received bRP cards in 2-3 months or after two email updates. Any thoughts...
