She was granted ILR in 2013.. Don't worry just disclose this info to HO, not a big deal as long as you haven't travelled on it. If they ask, just say was ignorant of the rules, and nobody was there to provide the guidance, that's it.
Thank you saamna for sharing helpful info.
I think there are some people who have obtained national passports and got ILR and if they are using this forum should come forward and share their stories for everyone's info.Although this was happened in 2013 and now it is 2019 and we are under a current tory hostile environment policy but still it has a news of relief for those who have done silly mistakes.

Ì submitted the paper application last year and there was a check list for the documents to be sent with it I stick to that sent all the documents it asked for. It was BRP, decision letter sent by HO when granted refugee status, travel document/passport. I don't remember there was anything else but you should check the checklist and send all the documents it asked for.

@London22

Applicant has obtained a national passport
aseworkers must ensure all relevant checks have been conducted to establish
whether the individual has obtained a passport from the national authorities of their
country of origin, or the country from which they claimed asylum..
DEAR London you said you have appointment this week with immigration firm.
Could you please ask them to clarify the highlight bit
That what does mean by RELEVANT CHECK ??
Is that information that we provide HOME OFFICE ???
Or information that HO collect from other agencies e.g from Pakistani embassy

Hi Amber
Relevent checks means the checks that are necessary to know if the refugee has obtained a national passport and in this regard contacting national authorities who make passport. It simply means embassies .
Home office by law cant share the reasons that leads a refugee to claim asylum.
Ho only going to ask them about passport.
You can read it clearly states case workes must enure means that have to do it .In the same paragraph it also orders case workers to refer such cases to SRU if refugee has obtained passport. The case of aunt:s ILR grant is 6 years ago .I can only feel relieved if I see a case like this got ILR after 2016.Goodluck

HI AMBER
I have decided to let them know .I obtained after 1 month of asylum grant .As I did my asylum myself so I wasn't aware of revocation .Generally It was in mind not to travel to home country.I was desperate to open a bank account and apply for job and didn't have any ID.So went there at there and obtained headache .I never travel on it.

Applicant has obtained a national passport
Caseworkers must ensure all relevant checks have been conducted to establish
whether the individual has obtained a passport from the national authorities of their
country of origin, or the country from which they claimed asylum or HP. Where an
individual has obtained a national passport, has travelled on it or asked for their
conditions of leave to be placed in it (a ‘Transfer of Conditions’ application), then
consideration must be given to whether it is appropriate to revoke refugee status or
HP
This paragraph can be interpreted in a way that I haven't travelled on it so the whole doesn't apply on me just a part of it although.Thats the only hope I have now.
I have fear but in common sense HO shouldn't refuse it but if they do it ,it is hard to challenge it.

just mention this reason (for obtaining the passport) in your cover letter, which does make sense, and they should be able to understand your situation.

Visa expiry date: 13/11/18

Applicatio sent to HO 15/10/18
Received by HO 16/10/18
Biometrics letter received from HO 02/11/18 (date 31/10/18)
Biometrics taken 05/11/18
Emails from HO regarding process of application 01/11/18, 30/11/18 and 31/12/18
BRP card received 17/01/19
Approval letter and expired travel document received 21/01/19 (date 14/01/19)

No solicitor used as my case is not complicated..!

If your case is straightforward then you can do on your own! Don't waste your money.
I only submitted reqired documents with one supporting document!

Good luck everyone.

The alternative, in case you have not used the home country passport would be to consult an immigration advisor and contact HO/SSHD to provide them the passport and explain your mistake and reasons you still require protection, which is likely to trigger a status review for your case.
@ariskar

Visa expiry date: 13/11/18

Applicatio sent to HO 15/10/18
Received by HO 16/10/18
Biometrics letter received from HO 02/11/18 (date 31/10/18)
Biometrics taken 05/11/18
Emails from HO regarding process of application 01/11/18, 30/11/18 and 31/12/18
BRP card received 17/01/19
Approval letter and expired travel document received 21/01/19 (date 14/01/19)

Took 3 months so not bad at all.

No solicitor used as my case is not complicated..!

If your case is straightforward then you can do on your own! Don't waste your money.
I only submitted reqired documents with one supporting document!

Good luck everyone.
Congratulations! Can you please tell me what supporting documents you submitted apart from the required ones?

I understand your point that if you dont tell HO they wont know it.I am stressed &stuck on passport same like you and in this regard I have just come accross a xxxxxxx case worker today where I work xxxxxx and he advised me not to tell home office and that advise is making me confused and probably change my mind .I will try to speak to some more to see what is good to do.
