Spouse leave to remain

Post by daiyan.suraya » Fri May 25, 2012 6:11 pm

Hi everyone,

I have just recently applied for a spouse visa but I am not currently working. But I have shown savings of 7,000+ with both of our accounts together. The reason we are not working is because when I renewed my student visa I had NOT been given permission to work within the UK (No Work Permit), and my wife is currently a full time student a university. The money in our bank is what we have saved before and we have had this money in our account for over 6months. We have informed UKBA about our current situation and provided bank statements for evidence.

Does anyone have any idea of whether I will still get a spouse visa?

(We also have a 3month old daughter and also provided evidence to UKBA about this, this is also the reason why my wife is currently not working)

Thanks.

does your wife have any income from benefits/student loan/grant etc? If so how much is this? How much do you pay in rent/council tax?

£3000 a year, but that's more than enough because currently we are staying at my in-laws until I get a job.

it's not enough in the UKBA's eyes unless you have third party support.

£3000 does not seem right for a student with a child. Is she studying at university or college?

How much does she get by way of student loan/grant?
How much does she get by way of benefits? What benefits is she claiming?

Ok i give up on this thread. If you think you already know the answer then what is the point of asking the question?

If you have already applied then seeking advice now is probably a bit redundant.
