Query re timeframes for naturalisation after gaining ILR

Post by bobblebeanie » Wed May 30, 2012 7:07 am

Hi,

I successfully gained my ILR on 1 June 2011. This followed five years on a work permit, which I originally entered the UK on 23 June 2006. However, in lines with the ILR application requirements, I had my ILR appointment within the last 28 days of my work permit. I now want to apply for naturalisation, but am unsure whether I can do so after 1 June 2012 (one year after gaining ILR) or 23 June 2012, which would be six years after having a work permit and my ILR. Can anyone clarify this? I have booked my appointment at the council to check my application, but think I will need to change this now. I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks,
ML

Firstly - list all addresses you've lived at in the last five years - technically, I've lived at two, which makes it pretty simple, but due to lease changeover dates, I stayed with a friend for about a week inbetween - should I list this or should I just list the two addresses I've lived at? If I do, there will be a gap of a week - do I need to explain this?

Secondly, section 2.1 asks you to state 'the date of first arrival in the UK'. I originally did a 2 year working holiday, before changing onto a five year work permit. should I list the date on my working holiday visa or my work permit date?

Any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks,

1. I would not think there is a need to mention the address for the one week gap.
2. When you first came (working holiday visa).
