Immigration for family members

Post by wabird » Thu May 31, 2012 11:38 pm

pls advice,
I have lived in Uk since 2000. My visa limited stay which is due to expire in august 2012 was cancelled in december 2012 while i was holiday in my home country. I managed to come back to the Uk in late 2011 with my two daughters one of which is a naturalized british citizen. we were allowed in at heathrow but the immigration officer withheld the passports. Its been more than 6 months now with no reply from HO. Yesterday they wrote to me asking me to give reasons why i should stay in UK. PLs advice on the best aproach on how i can write a successful application

What "limited leave" did you possess?
Why was your passport withheld?
How old are the daughters?
What is the immigration status of the daughters' mother?
Are you married to the mother of your daughters?

Do you mean to say she is a British citizen? If not, then with a mother who has "no immigration status" and a father who had DLR, how did the (minor) child become eligible for registration as a British citizen?

Where is your daughters' mother? in UK?
Does she have contact with your daughters?
Who do your daughters stay with?

Having reread your post, I notice you have stated that your (DL) leave was cancelled in December 2010. That is probably why your passport was withheld. Do you know or did the IO at Heathrow tell you the reason why your DL was cancelled?
