Spouse visa can we bring applicants son as well?

Post by carlyann » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:09 am

Hi

I am from the UK marrying a man from Nicaragua. He has a child from a fleeting relationship (2 weeks) 5 years ago. Since his son was born as is common in that country the mother and child moved in with his mother. The house is owned by my fiance and he charges no rent and also gives money for food, necessities. Anyway she has asked him to stay away. His mother is elderly but has become the main caretaker as she (the mother) does not show any interest, either in spending time or even in basic tasks like feeding - My fiances mum cannot contine to do this forever (she is 65) and the mother appears sporadically - she disapears for 3/4 weeks at a time. When my fiance tries to spend time when she is there all hell breaks loose!

I got a call tonight on video skype and he was so sick he was pretty much unresponsive. His mum refused to take him to hospital (and wouldn't let anyone else near) because she was 'tired' and watching a show on tv and had no money. Needless to say I have sent them to the hospital and I will be awake all night waiting.

I dont want to split a family but if after (many months - and noone will take this lightly) what are our options?
Hoping to be reunited soon

Thanks Vinny for the links it seems that for all involved it is better to address this now and not further down the line.

We have suggested a full sit down meeting with the whole family to discuss this situation and everyone invited has agreed - though i know it will not be plain sailing.

I feel bad about even asking these questions --actually i cant add anything, i love him so much
but all that matters is whether he is happy and what is best for him going forward
- nothing else
Hoping to be reunited soon
