Ex US Service member marriage Visa Help

Post by Pliler » Mon Jun 04, 2012 2:41 pm

Hoping for some help with my kinda unique situation gents. I was a USAF member station in the UK and was honorably separated in February for medical reasons. I met my wife over 5 years ago here in the UK and we have been married for over 3 1/2 years. We have a total of 5 children together and my wife is a stay at home mother. Up until I was separated, I provided my families income, but after becoming unemployed my wife began claiming benefits such as housing, council and job seekers. I was hoping to get a work visa working through the base, but because of the hard times haven't had a luck and now we are looking at applying for the marriage visa. Our worry is it might get rejected for her claiming benefits. She is only claiming what she is entitled to, but unfortunately she has to claim Job seekers as married or she would be getting income support instead. Because of her claiming me on her JSA, she is getting extra money for me, which I believe is going against the no recourse to public funds rule. Any help would be appreciated to keep from getting rejected and our family being split up.
