people who submit correct documentation, which is complete and is according to the guidelines and appendices provided by the Home Office, they will process it quickly and not put it on hold requesting more documentation etc

This is true!!
I have noticed this aswell! :(

I know a few ppl who have applied & they have all been granted their visa's & they submitted their applications after us.

I think the HO see women as low risk!

All the rest is true, except the emboldened part.

It's pure luck even if you meet the criteria, and how simple it is for them. The only cases known to definitely get it rapidly are the ones with the least paperwork, whilst fulfilling the criteria, and being very straightforward (applicant has well known BSc/MSc/PhD, sponsor good position 30k full-time salary, 1 job, long time, owns house, etc).

Well I'm finding it to be hit on miss in both cases. My wife re-applied, we used the same Categories as before (A+D). She was put on hold as Cat D wasn't met fully when she applied the first time. Now everything is met when she applied the second time round, and yet they're still taking longer then I expected them to. I'm surpsied people who applied in July got quicker turn-around.

I think applying in Islamabad is faster then applying elsewhere. Although like zee said, it all comes down to the evidence provided.

This is my first post but have been following the forum for quite a while.

I was wondering whether anyone can help me with a query I have. Alhamdulillah my wife was granted her spouse visa on the 6th August 2014 (she submitted her application on the 18th July 2014 so a really quick turnaround alhamdulillah).

Is there a specific time frame for when she has to enter the UK? I keep on hearing your spouse has to enter the UK within 28 days; some forums suggesting within 90 day, I'm really not sure.

Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Masha Allah fantastic news. Congratulations and may Allah make everyones visa granted.

what centre did you apply under?

Did you get a phone call to let you know to pick up passport?

did you receive a SMS? or you didnt? Or email?
Thank you and Insha Allah everyone's visa will be granted.

My wife applied in Islamabad and received a phone call telling her your passport is ready for collection. No email or SMS.
Thanks
Do you know if your wife picked up the first call there made?
Or what number there called from?
I only ask as I think my wife may be missing the call and not realizing as she can't even pick up the phone when I call her

I can't believe you still on hold after so long, what additional documents did there ask for?

What category did you apply under? Was it more payslips or bank statements there wanted?

yeah, also you get quicker response if you put your case in a bright flowery folder and your wife to smile and not to wear nose stud when submitting papers. unfortunately, this so far hasn't worked for our situation :(

UK supports a democratic Pakistan. We urge all to work together through constitutional means to peacefully resolve political differences.

Following ongoing political protests in Islamabad Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said:

The UK and Pakistan have deep and extensive ties. We strongly support a democratic Pakistan and the use of democratic institutions to resolve political disputes. I hope that all parties in Pakistan can work together under the Constitution to peacefully resolve current political differences.

where is our applications??????????

It's like we all know it's a refuse but still have a little corner of us wanting to belive it will be granted :(

This is horrible .. Some of us have been on hold for ages, they could Atleast have the decency to refuse us without making us suffer so much !
