Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

My wife applied on the 25/05/2014 and submitted documents on the 30th of that month. Before she had e-mail that further checks were being made, and now it says no update, they cannot give me any update what so ever. Applied CAT A and CAT D, everything meets the criteria. So why take so long? It's absolutely stupid and I feel it does violate human rights. They are leaving people in the dark when they have all the means to support them by giving the information they need. They feel the need not to though because they have immigration targets to meet.

I applied 5th of June and hubby submitted the documents on the 10th..I had a email saying pre assessment checks had been done and I emailed last night and they said no further updates.. They do take the p but I just keep thinking it won't b forever.. Mostly now April application r being seen so may is next so hopefully in a few weeks u will get visa

I know the pain as I'm currently going through the same. applied in June and still waiting. We can not not anything! Other than venting out our frustration in this forum. Appalling Standards by UKVI!

I submitted the e-mail without a visa application ref number. There isn't one on the receipt! Now I bet they'll say 'oh we can't do nothing because you didn't provide us with that'. You have the rest of the details though. Honestly, it's just stupid.

Yes GWF number and everything else. I think visa application ref number is the one that begins with GRY-PK - but now they do not print it on the receipts like before. Well, that is the case with my wife's receipt.

Did you take professional advice before lodging the application?
Whatever you have outlined above does require as part of the supporting evidence but specific supporting evidence requirement changes as per individual circumstances. If you can outline specifically what evidences you have provided in each section. i.e. Earnings, Relationship, Sponsor, Accommodation, English language etc. So people can chip in and give you better advice.

@ Sadia Khan: supporting documents you are mentioning do require for the spouse visa.
what are your worries? It seems fine from the outset but for specific advice you need to seek some professional help or you should have. Now you need to just sit tight and wait like us all. All the best

Just an observation but I think they're discouraging people with lower wages from entering the uk, even if their salaries are above the 18,600 threshold by deliberately finding the tiniest faults in their applications. Or maybe they just want less pakistanis migrating to their country. Its just sad.

If I am applying with 2 jobs.. 1 self employment and the other employed, do I still have to submit 12 months self employment and 6 months for the other employments do job ?

@Tomz123 I am surprised that happened to you because they should have only taken your last 6 months payslips into account, averaged them and multiplied by 12. But from what I hear from friends if you appeal it will take at least a year and you'll probably spend more money than reapplying.

£1558/ month is that your gross salary? My gross salary is £23k but after tax Im paid £1450 into my account. My real concern is that I took 1 month off from work most of which was unpaid, so for that month I was only paid £300. I am a little concerned this will have a negative affect on my wife's application. I can get my employer to explain this in a letter but after Tomz123 post I am worried now. At the same time I dont want to wait another 6 months to get 6 payslips showing the same amount! I want to apply next month.

I would avoid using that payslip.
Also about the accommodation requirement, am I right in thinking that a double room in enough for a couple? I mean there is no point in paying extra rent for a one bed if processing time is 6 months! if double room would do then I'd go for that. Has anyone applied with tenancy agreement for double bedroom in a shared accommodation and not a whole flat?

Hi, so we need to provide only 6 months payslips is that right. I have been working with the same employer for over 2 years however my salary was not consistent before. I want to apply for spouse visa for my husband now that Im earning the threshold however as with Tomz123 if I give payslips for more then 6 months that will be when my salary was below £1550. So it is ok if I give 6 months payslips along with my P60 as from what I understand only 6 months payslips is the requirement ofcourse I will also get a letter from my employer showing my length of employment plus annual salary.

Requirement is only for 6 payslip but some people give more to be on a better side. However if yur payslip falls below the threshold then yu should NOT give those, only give 6 continuous payslips showing income is above threshold, in sha Allah yu wil fine

In ur case yes u have to give whole year for self employment Like hmrc letters ,Tax returns ..Tax paid or payable .statement of account ...and 6 months for ur salaried employment ..If its both going in one Bank accoint ..then just specify the self employment transaction .so everythings served in a plate for them

Ket1, what date in May did they apply? I hope they are doing all applications quickly and with integrity. It's so sad we are all in the same boat, but the individual toll of it only each person know's.

@tallojani Thanks for answering my question, also can you pls help me with another concern that I have. Can you pls clarify is commission can be used to make up the £1550 per month n what about overtime and shift allowance do all these things count.... Basically if I include my commission shift allowance and a couple of hours of overtime I can easily make £1550 a month. Without that I am just under. do these extras count
