After my escalation on last Wednesday, this is the response I got today.

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

We understand you have been waiting for long and apologise for any
inconveniences. We have received a response from the decision making
centre, following your request for information on the current status of
your visa application. They stated that "Initial pre assessment completed.
Application is in Entry Clearance Officer’s queue for further assessment
and checks/enquiries."

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,

Any idea how long it will take more?

You would have to send the reply using the online form where you initially asked for the request on ukvi outside uk.

They will be aware ... state your contact ID which is ContactID#722754#
And say you are providing details so that an escalation can take place

Firstly, Congratulations to all the brothers and sisters who have received their visas today. May this month bring all the happiness to you.

Shocking to see that the BHC is still dealing with the March applications. I applied in May and I can't really see a reply coming from them till September :( . I hope I am proved wrong, but it does seem that way. On the bright side, the ball is rolling.

Visa Timeline
Married: 29/03/15
Online Application: 14/05/15
Documents Submitted @ ISB: 21/05/15
Documents Received BHC ISB: 21/05/15
Still not Seen by an ECO according to the email sent in the 4th week.

17 months got nothing to do with them. It's only been some days over 2 months for you. You chose to apply when you did maybe due to a lack of documents. But no point going on about how long you've been married for, it won't speed up the application.
TIMELINE

Spouse Visa (Entry Clearance) granted on 20-02-15
FLR-M (Extension) granted on 24-08-17

Yes, but you were misinformed and had a solicitor who knew nothing apparently, which is why you've had to wait so long, unfortunately.

Hi guys

Don't worry if there still on March applications just because they get looked at in order doesn't mean the decision will be made that way too.
I have a teo friends who both submitted around the same time. One was a nurse who worked for the nhs and another was a distant cousin who was self employed (shop) the nurse got her visa in 3 weeks!!! Where as my cousins didn't get his for 14 weeks. I think the type of job you have does affect the time scale.
Visa Granted: 22nd September 2015
Visa extension granted. March 2018

Agree some cases do take longer than others
We can't say they not started april as there have been a few April's who have got their visas
Another contributing factor is location submitted as some are lagging behind than others
