My wife had her biometrics on the 24th of July. She also had the text the same day stating forwarded but nothing since. I read it can take 2 weeks but this is approaching the 4th week! She submitted all the documents in Islamabad as the online application was 29th June.
ah right. I've emailed so we'll see what they say. I typed GWF then the number...apparently that is incorrect?

My online application was 11 july. They took all documents in islamabad.

Sorry for the Ilets fiasco. All has been paid and confirmed. Thanks

I need some guidance and advice. As I have a new job that started in May 2015 do I have to wait 6 months then apply? Some people have used the 12 month wage rule also, I think this would be better for me as my new job falls under the 18.6K salary but my old job which was from Sept 2014-March 2015 had gross of £1700.

REGARDING P&P:

You only need to send the exact same amount of postage as u sent in the first place for your documents to Sheffield (tracked special delivery)
if u applied in pakistan after 6th july, u will still need to send a prepaid envlope/bag (id say 1kg is enough, for the person who sent 5kg worth that is insane)

also they have started on June applications, but its very slow

people from APRIL AND MAY are still waiting and applications from early may who have had delayed emails have still not received decisions and now June applicants are starting to get delayed emails.

id say June/July is a very busy time i applied June last year and got a reply 21st November so have sabr :)

Hi guys,

Hope all is well. I have a quick query regarding the NHS fee we had to pay at the time of submission.

Mashallah my wife's visa was granted and I was wondering (after paying the £600 fee) whether she will be eligible for free healthcare for the 3 year visa period? i.e. free prescriptions, hospital admission etc.

What actually does that £600 fee cover her for?

Thanks again and inshallah your wait will be coming to an end soon!!!

those who have paid the charge are permitted to access free NHS care to the same extent as permanent residents during the period of their leave. A power is retained to exclude “certain expensive, discretionary treatments” but it was stated there were no plans to make use of this provision

Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuhu brothers and sisters,

I've been a long time reader and received a lot of support and hope from the forum from seeing the applications being processed. However, my wife's visa has today been refused :( , and honestly I can't explain to anyone how upset I am.

Timeline:

Application Online: 29 April 2015
Application Mirpur (Biometrics): 29 May 2015
Application received Islamabad: 2 June 2015
Status Update: 27th July, 7 August - Yet to be Processed
Status Update: 12 August 2015 - Processed
Email Received from ISLAMVisaInfo (Application Processed): 18 August 2015 (~8:15am UK Time)
Email Received from ISLAMVisaInfo (IHS Refund/Refusal): 19 August 2015 (~4:30am UK Time)
Email/Text Message received from VFSGlobal to collect passport: 19 August 2015 (~10:50 UK Time)

I immediately called my wife when I received the IHS refund email, as I did not want her to go to the application centre and then find out it was a rejection. Alhamdulillah that I could at least cushion the blow for a her a little, even if it was like getting a concrete slab in my face. She has just now picked up the documents and the refusal is on the basis of financial requirement. So here is a little bit about the finances please excuse if it is a bit of an essay:

I've been with my current employer for 2.5 years, 1 year as an apprentice making £90 a week, then I got a job at £17,980 per year, then I got a 2.2% pay increase to £18376 in January 2015, and then I received an increment in April 2015 taking my pay to £19,048.
So for my application to be successful in May, I needed some sort of savings to make up the deficit of £620, based on the lowest level of pay. So I needed £16,000 + (£620x2.5) = £17,550.
So I submitted it and the refusal was based on the gross pay, because:

1. I bought back some days of annual leave, so they actually add up your gross pay per month (whereas I was under the impression they looked at the total pay at the top in the year). So what they did was add up each month, then multiplied by 2 so it meant that my annual pay was £300 less).
2. They (GD was the initials) take the application from the online date, and I was under the impression it is done from the biometric date, because my bank account only had £14000 in in April, but in May I had around £18000.
3. Letter from employer was dated before 28 days (but my brother's was also, but his wife's Visa got approved).

It looks like I made a huge mistake here, and I wish I had just waited. My family wants me to appeal, but to be honest it looks like a waste of time. I am instead thinking of making a new application in October, as going by the rules above. I don't know if the ECO has looked at incorrectly, or myself.

I pray that everyone gets good decisions for themselves/spouses, and that Allaah holds everyone accountable for their actions.

firstly very sad to hear the news, i know what u must be going through but trust me everything happens for a reason and allah has better plans for u :) inshallah

please correct me if im wrong

You said you had £14,000 savings in april? was that april 2015?
and then u said in May u had £18,000? that is only 1 month difference and the exact amount u needed has to be in your account for a minimum of 6 months

Also the first £16,000 of savings are not even considered ( u said u had £14,000 at first)

Secondly the employer letter is sometimes refused because it is older than 28 days, how old was yours??, and the 28 days is calculated from online date not bio-metric

and lastly the ECO has calculated your pay right, what was the lowest amount of payslip???

sorry i meant october, and the November was when the bank had enough money (Nov 15). My employer letter was 31st January 2015.

Also, the TB test and ESOL certficates are not in the pack that they sent back. My wife is worried because she thinks the IELTS is too hard for her, and is now extremely upset as we only have till November to get that sorted. Would the ESOL mark sheet counter part be enough as they sent that back? Or a photocopy of the certificate?

@shakoorh

I think because u said u had enough in November u applied in April....therefore it makes it 5 months and savings need to be in account for minimum of 6 full months

Also 31st of Jan is old as u applied April 29th so most likely they would have rejected u for that but if that was the only reason they probably wouldn't have

They often keep a few documents just in case for appeal, i don't know why but they kept some of mine too, well most likely the TB test would have been invalid by the time u reapply so u might as-well get a new one and don't worry English test is not that hard with the right preparation did she pass the city and guilds A1 test? that will be no longer accepted from 5th November, don't worry it will b fine get looking for a new test asap

and no u have to submit original documents and u will most likely be refused for not supplying originals or just a counterpart

How does the new process work? You have to send the files to Sheffield. When do you do this? Do you do it after the appointment in Mirpur, or before?

Yes that's correct, unless your getting tax credits then obviously prescription is free

She will need to print and sign the application and send it to you along with her passport size photos and supporting documents. Once you receive them, add them to all the documents you have gathered and send them to Sheffield for processing. Do it once your wife has submitted her biometrics and passport. Don't forget to send a prepaid self addressed envelope with the documents so that they can return them back to you once the application has been processed.

She will need to do the english test again.

Will she need to do the English test again if we can get the ESOL certificate back? I have found on the website that they can reprint one for £44, and it takes 3 weeks. The test is dated July or August 2014, so I should have the grace period until November (I would like to re-apply in October).

The other thing is, they haven't given back the original Nikkah Nama, but I have got the Groom's original one, so will that be good enough? Also, have got copies of everything.

She is going to go to VAC tomorrow to ask where the rest of the papers are because we don't want to appeal, we want to re-apply, but there is a short time frame, as I need to apply between October 1st and November 5 to make sure English test still counts.

JazakAllaah Khair for everyone's help. I really appreciate it.

If you can get it back and it's still accepted by the time you reapply, then should be ok. That Nikkah nama should be fine too, but you must get there other one back and any other original documents they have kept. My wife received everything back, so I'm guessing applicants who get refused don't get back all their documents for some reason. Strange.

I doubt going to the VAC will help, but worth a try, I could be wrong.

Final question (not promising anything), is wife's NIC card also submitted with supporting documents, or does she submit in Mirpur?

Attach a photocopy with the supporting documents she sends to the UK. NIC card is not essential as the passport will show that your wife is a resident of Pakistan.

The only thing you submit in mirpur is the passport.

When did you last visit your wife? She must be upset right now? If her new application is successful, she's most likely to receive her visa by February next year, depending on when you submit everything.

How long have you been married? Random question.

Would like to share my timeline.

I'm not sure if anyone heard of this catagory but financial requirement and Accomodation rules are same as for spouse visa and I applied my wife's visa called 'POST FLIGHT ' which is for 5 years 3 months.

i have two job to meet the income threshold.

my concern is that although the wage slip amounts match the amounts going into account the days are different.

Dates on wage slips and date money goes into account are different

should i get a letter from employer explaining why this is? Or will it be ok

One of the reasons is that the wage slip issued first and then within 7 days the wage goes into account
Definitely In my humble opinion you should get a letter from employers so that your covered and you done your bit and that it looks more presentable in case and it backs up the differ in wage slips and dates wages has be credited into account
Yeah I've also been reading comments here and on Facebook page. And a few turn outs are alarming!!. I wonder what the issue is all about bacs or online payment method used :?:
Should I include this information in my employment letter or a seperate letter and attach that at the end of my wage slips?
