HI all thanks for the replies :)

The updateis that husband had his appointment this morning, which I obtained after contacting the French embassy in London about the issue. They have taken in his passport and other documents and fingerprints. Now its a case of waiting for the visa, they certainly have no grounds for rejection, so just waiting now :)

Just goes to show that one shouldn't give up and take no for an answer. Good idea involving the French in the UK - very inventive!

Hope it works out for you.

Thanks, Emilie (I know thats not your name, but thats what I read, when i see your username!) Yes, a friend suggested I contact the French embassy in London and it seems to have worked wonders! :)

They probably have an internal messaging system, where the french, at the embassy in Pakistan, and not locals, have access to them :)

Congratulation SRAQAI, all the best to you and your husband in France.

As seen below I have posted a follow up link of your story below. It helps others, particularly new members to easily follow you.

Just to let everyone know.... In this case eventually I had traveled to Pakistan and confronted Gerrys myself. I gave them the low down on the Directive, was apologized to and Gerrys 'area manager' made sure my husband got to the embassy. After our case, Gerrys circulated a memo about the Directive 2004/38/ec to all their staff across the country.... So now there *should* be no problem for Brits' Pakistani spouses getting an appointment. Gerrys only listened after I had a heated convo (email convo) with french embassy, who then *disciplined* Gerrys and forced themn to takeur case... And start accepting these types of applications.

Never knew SRAQAI anywhere else but here.

You only need to look back a bit to see why we're both on here.

SRAQAI- I do not have any link to Pakistan :)
