Depandant to WIfe Visa (will it be for 5 years or 2 years)?

Hi,

my wife currently has a Tier 1 dependant Visa which experies in September, same as my Tier 1 Visa. I will be applying for ILR in August having spent 5 years -28 days.... and my wife will need to apply for spouse (wife) Visa....

under the new rules (5 year proof of marriage) -- how long will the spouse Visa (when granted in August ) be given for?

will it be for 5 years or will it continue to be for 2 years like now and then require an extension?

I also need advise about when best to apply for myself and my wife

my idea is to apply in person for myself get the ILR doc and BRP number which i need to fill in her application and then send hers by post?

Apologies for the misunderstanding -- I have copy-pasted another post of mine here... after being directed to do so by sushdmehta to post in my (this existing topic) my reference to a more senior member was in response to S.UK in my other post and not Greenie the GURU..!

misunderstanding now cleared, moving to my question again...

can someone simply help me with an answer...? I have read the detailed Q&A post and am still unsure... its not that simple even for someone like me who have worked 5 years here and dealt with home office more than 10 times...

basically,
1) wife entered country before July new changes
2) havent stayed yet for 2 years
3) Dependant Visa expires by September 2012
4) need to apply after JULY

Does she apply with me for ILR or does she go for spouse extension?

the Confusion here is that the changes from JULy ? are they applicable for first UK entry before July or extensions after JUly...
